She is doing well yes, but there are all our other Team GB athletes who have performed outstandingly. a thread dedicated to just one athlete is slightly unfair me thinks.....our cycling and rowing girls are far better in my opinion.

johnson-thompson is the  one to watch and deserves more attention than shes had

Outstanding!! Amazing achievement in itself but I think to perform so well under so much pressure is an Olympic feat in its own right.

Well done Jess, amazing.

Johnson-Thompson will get her time, she's only a youngster

The Guardian live blog claims it's the first gold for a British athlete since 1908 - dropped a few letters in all the excitement I think.

04/08/2012 at 21:20

Sorry Jennis, I'm sure you'll understand, but, ......... GO MO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

04/08/2012 at 21:23

As mentioned on Friday I had tickets for Saturday night and can only think how lucky we were in the original ticket ballot because it was pot luck what sport we would get and what night, it's only the last couple of months as the schedule has been finalised you realise it.  Jess was brilliant although apart from pulling a muscle, with only the 800m to go, she was a cert at that point, the crowd were just brilliant though.

However the noise for Mo Farah, which was something akin to putting your head up the back of a jet engine, during the last lap and a half was an experience I don't think I will ever get again.  The stadium was just one voice of incredilble volume.

Throw in a long jump gold, Dai Greene semi, Christine Ohurugu semi, 100m ladies semis and final and the ladies discus final, some night.

The whole stadium singing All you need is Love while we waited for the Jessica Ennis medal ceremony, and everybody singing the national anthem during it were two other great moments.  And well done all the volunteers who are helping to make every day a happy day there.
