Boddington (Gloucestershire) 50k, 13th August, £22 I think it cost.

It was a pleasure to take part in the marathon, if a little humbling being in the presence of ironmen when I was a mere relay runner.

And they sound like verrucas to me haile

Hardly, Gavin. Regardless of everyone else, you still did a mara in iffy conditions. And kept me going every time you passed me (not that I could place who you were the first couple of times, but then I had to concentrate hard to think!)

50k sounds like a nice little introduction into a whole different world of pain. And its only in a couple of weeks so not much time to fret too much about it.

would anyone like me to email them a pic of my feet?
01/08/2006 at 15:30
I'll pass on the email thanks haile.

As for the 50k, trying to think of it as a mara with a warm-down. I'm just glad that for the most part TLD went well for everyone - it certainly gave me a kick up the butt for motivation

looking at a 40 miler for next spring, which I shall be doing backwards, blindfolded whilst juggling knives.

will that do?

Haile - i will need a picture

if it is just callus - which is quite likely since you have just put your feet through a major trauma - then use a file rather than a pumice stone, i think they are a bit yuc, sat by your bath, full of dead skin, festering away in the warm and damp of your bathroom. files can be washed

anyway - send me a picture and i will do my best from that

if they hurt when you squeeze from the sides they are likely to be verrucae, and they can have little black dots on them - which is it's blood supply

only if it is off road TMW

01/08/2006 at 17:07
TMW, by lightweight i was refering to you wimping out of the photos, not the ultra, plonker!

01/08/2006 at 17:50

Thank you for your prompt diagnosis L, verrucae it is then.

I'm sorry that you found the pics disturbing, and i should have warned you about the nail polish too.

Nothing DG? There must be something around York, surely?
01/08/2006 at 18:22

Just your cup of tea

cool thanks Haile - sounds fun. Missed a few promising ultras training for TLD, need something else now.

Might be doing the 'Phil & Friends' bike ride on the 14th - Haile, you doing that?
