As a wise woman once said, keep a lid on it! You will make huge improvements this year just don't get carried away, oh and get that ruddy turbo set up sorted before you do your back in permanently!!

I am actually going to do a nice circular route tonight, I've done weeks of 'out n back' to keep times strict!

but just looked at the weather forecast and it looks wall to wall rain for the next 10 days

Well done Seren.  Really pleased for you.

Did you sort out all the other people you needed for a bike fit?  Is it the same price for 2, 3 or 4 people or does it get progressively cheaper?

I did an hour swim this morning and then a 2hr 10 min run.  I'm fecked. Trouble is, I know I won't sleep well tonight either.

I had to study the inside of my eyelids earlier. I even persuaded the One Who Hasn't Had a Rest Day since NYE to have a nap. Which is a miracle in itself. Would explain why he's losing weight again though, which he's happy about.

Well done on your PeeBee Seren, orsum work

27/01/2013 at 18:16

Seren, that made me laugh - precisely how do you think you might break it?

I tried to study my eyelids and managed 15 mins and then the weather woke me up again.

I think I'm getting a bit stressed, I have another very hard week coming up and I need to get it started, so I can get it finished!

Not read further than 2 pages back so apologies if I have missed anyone/anything

Seren - congrats on shiny PB

Mouse - bike fit cost depends on what fi you have any how many of you there are. For the one we had in Dec it was reduced from ??185 to ??100 if we got four people. Three people would have been more expensive but I can't remember by how much

Mrs F - congrats on getting him to take a nap

*curtseys to Meldy*

Nothing much happening at Schmunks Towers, except Jr has joined local Tri club and it seems to be going well. His swimming has come on noticeably as it is FC focused rather than any of the four strokes at Swim Club. How old does he have to be before he can do Lanza

Oh, and I am *supposed* to be on Virgins Super Mega Hyper Broadband speed but I'll be darned if I can tell a difference

Grrrrrr!

well done seren

4 hours in the uni library, 1/3 of an assignment done

I went to bed this afternoon...but I didn't go to sleep

My bum is much better today...only hurts when going from lying to sitting now. (and that has nothing to do with the staement above!)

Went to another gym for a try out this morning...not as big as last week's and a bit more expensive but they will let me park my car there for free during the day and it's only 10 mins walk from one of the stations I use, so I think I'm going to go for it.

So I did 90mins of CV work, weights and stretching, then a half hour swim

Finished the weekend off with a 10 mile run this evening...I think ultra traing is underway!

Oh, I changed my gym membership on Friday.  I was at David Lloyd paying a large sum per month for Family Schmunks.  Now I am at another gym and what I was paying for myself at David Lloyd will pay for me and Mr Schmunks at the new gym.  A total saving of almost £90 per month

My training starts tomorrow.  I am going back to basics and starting couch to 5k .  You just can't rush these things

27/01/2013 at 21:15

Mine is a lot more expensive than my old one because my old one was through work and I paid for it before I paid my tax, so worked out at around £25 a month! But they have closed to two closest to home and the one round the corner from the new office is scummy, so time for a change.

I'm only joining on a 3 moth contract though because we get our new bonus packages at work in May and I want to see which gym they offer this year. If I don't like it, I'll sign up for 12 months where I am but if it looks ok, I'll swap as it's bound to be cheaper.

I have a very good deal with my gym and I pay £27 a month, no pool but it has all I need there and I have a pool membership in Stoke Mandeville for £20 so not too bad there either

Had a lovely run this evening, round the lanes with my headtorch, gradually increasing time/distance and did 50 mins concentrating on light contact and high cadence, my calfs know I have worked but I am currently niggle free ... I am cautiously optimistic

The game plan is to be at longest bike of 4hrs and a longest run of 1 1/2hrs by end of February ... thats what the pretty colours are telling me

28/01/2013 at 06:45
But what are the voices in your head telling you??

Ooh pretty colours. Lovely

Morning all. Sorry to hear about your fall Cas, but your running sounds like it's going well. Are you racing this year?

SEREN!!! You star! Lovely peebee. And top training/librarying everyone else.

Yesterday's run was ace. I did 16 miles and had the most amazing sunshine, blue sky and no fecking ice and snow! Hurrah!!

Day off work today to take number 2 daughter for hospital appt and then meet the personal trainer chappy to show me the ropes (literally) with the TRX things. Yes Mouse, Meldy is spot on. I'm hoping to improve my core.... operation 'pwoarr core*

I have a great gym with a 50m pool (cough) For a long time I've only been using my membership for the yoga classes (which are amazing) so I've given myself a kick up the bottom to use it a bit more.

I pay £30 a month........but get swim, sauna   loads of fitness classes, squash and gym.......at my local sports cebntre or can use the other 7 in the borough........

I am geting my moneys worth at the moment but will cancel when i have had enough.

back still hurting.hubby said black ice on the roads so no roadbike yet.....so debating whether to run, swim or go back to bed as had a really crap nights sleep......i think bed is winning

28/01/2013 at 12:36

black ice for me at the station. not good!

sounds like a good deal seren. i'm not a gym member myself. not convinced i have the staying power and not a fan of gym machines. swimming is a different matter, perhaps if i have a good 6 months of running behind me i might reconsider, although getting home from work about 7pm means there isn't time to run AND swim in the same day
