PPP--I've been saying that to everyone for years!

I'm feeling slightly better today so i think i will have a bash at a track 10k tonight. I will start off at a slightly slower pace, see how i feel then pick it up if i can. All welcome, 25 laps of the track will be fun!

Will join you for a few as my legs feel fine, obviously didn't try hard enough on Sunday!!

Jonah8--Ok see you later. I'm getting there for 6.30 ish and starting the 10k at 7pm. Should be done by 8.45.

Am thinking of going across to Chester to watch NI win on Sunday and Eric get under 3:30!.

Two options

1) Drive across with bikes and cycle part of course, then drive home

2) Get train from Picaddilly, watch NI win and then cycle back to Stockport (45 miles)

Anyone else interested?

JMC- Interested? yes not half. Please keep me informed of your decision as I can barely stand the suspense.

Actually, I get teary eyed thinking about the moment we joined hands and crossed the line together...

BTW, what are you having for dinner?

PPP - You Knob!!!!

If the last sentence said "Is anyone else interested in joining me" would your small Southern arty, farty brain have understood that?

I like the idea of watching NI win Chester but I have to defend my title at the big race of the day Congleton Half on the same morning .

PPP - a couple of years ago I did stop for a lie down at Four Villages near 11 miles and only just stumbled down to the finish.  But this year faced my demons there and ran 73.  As ever I'll roll the dice on the day.  If you go out hard, blowing up is just one possibility - ask the chaffinch.

But it's great you're getting a decent team out for 4V.

Proud moment at the track earlier as, for the first time ever, i won a race!  Details such as 'who i beat' and' how many entered the race' aren't important as you can only beat who turns up!

Poacher--Thanks for being my pacemaker for the first 5k and for another mile later on.

And to everyone i beat--Tough luck losers!!! Sorry, i'm a bad winner!

Obviously the large number of under 14s who lapped us did not know they were in a "race"...
04/10/2012 at 21:57
Gbm sorry I didn't make it to track but I had no transport
04/10/2012 at 22:58

J8-no, didn't get in VLM (7 years consec. i've not made it through the ballot),  thank you for the offer, i've done it for the last 6 years so give someone else the opportunity, if i change my mind, i'll throw my name in the hat at SH.

JMC - I'll take a sub 3.30! Just can't get motivated for Sunday. Feel fit and healthy but not kept to a proper structured and disciplined training plan.
04/10/2012 at 23:20
Thanks for the votes of confidence guys - I'll try not to let anyone down!

JMC - ES had bloody well better go under 3:30 - I don't know if there's a team prize but if there is we should be in with a shout as long as he chooses suitable shorts for the conditions, VL's calf holds out and I run like I did at Lake V and not at the relays!

VL - how is the calf?

RB - good luck at Congleton.

Good luck to Daz and TST and anyone else racing this weekend too.
05/10/2012 at 08:25

Jonah8--No problem. I won the V40 category too!

I'm feeling a bit rough again after last nights efforts. Spoke to Dave Turnbull who told me to back off the running. I know he is right but i'm in 'scared of losing fitness' mode! I will get tomorrows 17/18 miler out of the way and maybe back off a bit more than was intended over the final 2 weeks.

Eric--You'll be up for it by Sunday morning! The weather looks perfect!!

Good luck to all racers this weekend!!

JMC - I might be up for joining you for option 2. Depends how tomorrows ride goes but keep me posted on any plans.

GBM - Well done on the win!
05/10/2012 at 08:41
Fantastic effort GBM, hopefully no one else will turn up for Amsterdam. Really think you should get a late entry for Chester so you can show Eric how to run a marathon!
05/10/2012 at 11:40

GBM, excellent, obviously my mind games have worked, looking forward to a sub 2.50 at Amsterdam, now you're being coached by Dave Turnbull.

05/10/2012 at 12:05

SARQ--Yes, without your mind games i would be struggling to go sub 4! I'm going to set off at 2.50 pace but i'm confident that i will be able to pick it up 2nd half and push for a 2.45.

05/10/2012 at 12:14

Eric-surely with your ability you're talking sub 2.30, not 3.30, i've not trained properly for about 6 weeks, and i think i could just  about manage 3.30 or is this reverse psychology

GBM-the good news, apart from your marvellous win, is that i've found TST, he's migrated over to Facebook.

JS-didn't the recent problem resolve itself or is it still the hip problem?
