Good Luck to all tarmac-racers this weekend

I shall be pottering down Goyt Valley, toiling up to Windgather Rocks, admiring the views on the trog up to Shining Tor, sliding on my @rse down to the Goyt, then lumbering back over to the Burbage Institute for soup & cakes

TB--He's confusing everyone on there now is he?

GBM-Probably

Re. the rejection for VLM, it appears that they don't send a letter out now with the magazine, so what do we do re. the SH places?

05/10/2012 at 16:22

TB - there should have been a single sheet with the magazine saying ' you have been rejected'. It isn't personalised, though. But even if it had been, would the Club even know who The Broker is?

Enjoy the Windgather DTS.  The stone paving on the way up to Shining Tor is harder than tarmac.  But it should be nice and muddy in places.  Good practice for the main event .... the XC season

Bad luck TB - I thought after a number of ballot fails they let you in on some sort of unlucky ticket.  Otherwise tuck in behind NI on Sunday and grab yourself a championship slot.

Yes, see you then.

Jonah8/FOAR/Anyone who fancies joining us--I've sorted out a 13 mile road route for tomorrow. Just letting you know in case you want to add a few miles on before and/or afterwards.

Busy weekend of running coming up.  Good luck to everyone running.  I think that Bash holds the Harriers marathon record at 2:19 - NI, that's your target!

Not a particular objective of mine but I am on page 1 of Fetch training league for October!  Even higher than NI, although UB is above me.

05/10/2012 at 20:49

Good luck to Chester runners on Sunday hope you all achieve your targets, and all other racers.

GBM - Have you've shaken off the man virus and ready for your last long run.

05/10/2012 at 20:58
BHB - I've got a feeling that Bash's marathon club record will be beaten in the next 12 months but not this weekend and certainly not by me!

Best of luck to all racers this weekend, glad I've got mine over and done with.

Off to Turkey on Monday for a well earned holiday.

RC--Its still lingering but SARQs mind games have got me through Tuesdays and Thursdays sessions and will get me through tomorrow. Time for you to put your feet up.

...and hopefully through the streets of Amsterdam.
13 Sunday morning then easy next week.
05/10/2012 at 22:39
NI - very discreet of you not to mention me by name.

RB-yes,i've had the 5 consecutive years rejection place 2 years ago which i think has now been withdrawn and a GFA place.

BB-the front cover of the magazine says "sorry" you didn't get a place but no leaflet, i think from memory (but could be wrong), the name and address used to be on the letter, but now it's ink jet printed on the cellophane wrapper. I'm thinking of doing 4 villages, trying to keep up with you, then sprinting the last 100 metres

NI-that was a conservative time quoted, i think if you pushed it, you could do better, you have the talent.

ES / VL / BB / anyone - are you going to be hanging around in Chester after the race tomorrow? I'm planning to be in the Old Harker's Arms, CH3 5AL from about 2:30ish if you fancy a pint? It's been 8 weeks since my last one so not sure how many I will manage to drink though!
06/10/2012 at 09:24
TB - you're having a laugh aren't you? I would have to run two back to back half marathon pbs and even then I would still be nearly a minute over. It would be madness to even attempt it.

BHB - keep logging those miles. I'm having a week off after tomorrow.
06/10/2012 at 10:10

Great weather for running - hope it holds for tomorrow for you all.

NI, you are in a taper and then having a week off.  Will I still be above at end October?

06/10/2012 at 12:17

GBM / J8 - Thanks for the run. Last 20 miler before Snowdonia .

Hope everyone has a great race tomorrow. For Chester runners, the racecourse finish means that you won't feel tired furlong
