J8-no, didn't get in VLM (7 years consec. i've not made it through the ballot), thank you for the offer, i've done it for the last 6 years so give someone else the opportunity, if i change my mind, i'll throw my name in the hat at SH.
Jonah8--No problem. I won the V40 category too!
I'm feeling a bit rough again after last nights efforts. Spoke to Dave Turnbull who told me to back off the running. I know he is right but i'm in 'scared of losing fitness' mode! I will get tomorrows 17/18 miler out of the way and maybe back off a bit more than was intended over the final 2 weeks.
Eric--You'll be up for it by Sunday morning! The weather looks perfect!!
Good luck to all racers this weekend!!
GBM, excellent, obviously my mind games have worked, looking forward to a sub 2.50 at Amsterdam, now you're being coached by Dave Turnbull.
SARQ--Yes, without your mind games i would be struggling to go sub 4! I'm going to set off at 2.50 pace but i'm confident that i will be able to pick it up 2nd half and push for a 2.45.
Eric-surely with your ability you're talking sub 2.30, not 3.30, i've not trained properly for about 6 weeks, and i think i could just about manage 3.30 or is this reverse psychology
GBM-the good news, apart from your marvellous win, is that i've found TST, he's migrated over to Facebook.
JS-didn't the recent problem resolve itself or is it still the hip problem?
Good Luck to all tarmac-racers this weekend
I shall be pottering down Goyt Valley, toiling up to Windgather Rocks, admiring the views on the trog up to Shining Tor, sliding on my @rse down to the Goyt, then lumbering back over to the Burbage Institute for soup & cakes
TB--He's confusing everyone on there now is he?
Re. the rejection for VLM, it appears that they don't send a letter out now with the magazine, so what do we do re. the SH places?
TB - there should have been a single sheet with the magazine saying ' you have been rejected'. It isn't personalised, though. But even if it had been, would the Club even know who The Broker is?
Enjoy the Windgather DTS. The stone paving on the way up to Shining Tor is harder than tarmac. But it should be nice and muddy in places. Good practice for the main event .... the XC season
Bad luck TB - I thought after a number of ballot fails they let you in on some sort of unlucky ticket. Otherwise tuck in behind NI on Sunday and grab yourself a championship slot.
Yes, see you then.
Jonah8/FOAR/Anyone who fancies joining us--I've sorted out a 13 mile road route for tomorrow. Just letting you know in case you want to add a few miles on before and/or afterwards.
Busy weekend of running coming up. Good luck to everyone running. I think that Bash holds the Harriers marathon record at 2:19 - NI, that's your target!
Not a particular objective of mine but I am on page 1 of Fetch training league for October! Even higher than NI, although UB is above me.
