JMC/Anyone--Sunday morning run. 13 miles on the MW. 9am at Rose Hill. Me and Foxy so far. All welcome.

Also!! We need to organise a night out for the 'Post Marathon Piss Up/Jonahs 50th/GBMs what went wrong this time discussion'. Saturday 3rd November has been mentioned but nothing set in stone. What time would everyone be back from Mansfield?

I was 149th in this year's National and thought I'd ran pretty well. You're up against all the best runners in the country (hence the name). The next one is in Sunderland on Feb 23rd. A top 100 finish there will be my next big target.

The Northerns are at Knowsley Safari Park on Jan 26th.

I didn't even make the end of my street this morning though (too soon). How do. people who get injured cope with it? I'm going a little stir-crazy already!

Yes, you have to think that if your finishing 20th in the GM XC league then there are at least another 20 XC leagues out there and a lot of good runners go to the nationals'  Great experience though.

NI - can't you enter a race this weekend so that we can all beat you while you're rubbish.

12/10/2012 at 15:14

At the Nationals the challenge was for the mini-Bobs to top 100 and me to top 300.  I knew it was close but the mini-Bobs were killing themselves as I sprinted for the line.  NI was probably only 600m ahead of me at the finish but that is 150 places.

NI - I think you were a probably a bit stir-crazy before the injury.

I find these useful distractions to running.

DIY, work, jobs for wife, jobs for kids, good telly, crap telly, cycling

I usually have no problem thinking of something else to do.

Have entered 4-Villages as an alternative to York

GBM - wife away this weekend so will struggle to get a long run in due to kids

MTBB - i am in 'charge' at woodbank on Saturday, always good to have you there

12/10/2012 at 18:48

PPP - that's good. We'll sort out the details once the pack comes ; track, cheque or Burnage parkrun if you would rather do that one Saturday morning. I'll let you know when the number etc comes.

TST - I've got to have my quarterly haircut tomorrow morning so give me a decent marshalling position so I can get away quickly

12/10/2012 at 18:55
GBM - count me in for 3rd November. I suggest we have it in the centre of Stockport so no-one has much of a problem with transport.

JMC - don't have a wife or kids, useless at diy, don't particularly enjoy watching tv. Cycling is a possibility - I'm just trying to work out how much of the Bullock route is accessible by MTB. ??S??, estoy m??s loco!
12/10/2012 at 18:57
Oops - That didn't really work for some reason.
12/10/2012 at 19:19
NI - I have a sh*t load of DIY, I'm sure I could find a nice simple job for you to hone your skills on. You could borrow my kids if you want and I could probably lend you the wife for a bit as well.
12/10/2012 at 19:22
NI that sounds too soon to be attempting a run. A few more days off is required so that I will be above you in Oct mileage charts.

I might have to pay for a 4 villages place as RB is quiet about my offer to take his free entry.

PPP may join you on Sunday as long as you don't start putting in 6:30 miles like you usually do. Trying to keep my LSR as just that. I am interested in vets relays too.

GBM good idea about night out. I can celebrate being 49 and 11/12ths.

NI-try being injured for 12 months, hopefully all that's behind me.

12/10/2012 at 23:32

NI - cheers for the entry at Mansfield but I'm signed up for the Tatton half the following day so if I'm in running shape I'll be going for that. Apparently I've got patella tendinopathy in my left knee, just to add to the various list of injuries being reported.

13/10/2012 at 09:17
MTBB - cheers

BHB - all 7.30 ish, promise. Shall I see you at yours at 8?

4 vills is going to be great!
13/10/2012 at 12:43

RC--Good luck at Liverpool tomorrow!!! Go for it!

13/10/2012 at 13:48
Ppp and bhb, Depending on how much I have to drink tonight I may join you. I've done 6 this morning and was bloody hard work, so I may only do 10-
12m. 14 is too much for me at the moment, as my longest runs have only been 6 and they hurt at 7.03 pace.
I'm doing a park run next week, to pace my son round to a sub 19 and I think at the moment I may struggle and get beaten by him.

SARQ--No mental strength?
