BHB - Trafford isn't open for entry yet but it's definitely on that date according to my source at Alty AC.

Morticia - I spotted that, pity we can't get it changed.  It's knocked the percentage points down 3 just with that one answer.

Well that proves I'm not HL as I don't make mistakes like that!

Eric- Bit weird as well to give a '40%' answer regarding the race entry fee question when you get chip timing and a marvelous (joke!) tech top! Maybe this person only does fell races and isn't used to normal race entry fees?!

Anyway, get Jayne Lawton to start planting up something suitable for December display round the route and that will further improve the scores next year

Mort- she could just stand on the route. That would improve the scenery.
13/12/2012 at 22:23
Jonah - couldn't keep up with that, too lightweight. You are looking quick though. Need to get your head round Heartbreak Hill now.

Poacher - I'm hoping New Zealand Road training might help me to .

13/12/2012 at 23:01

Plod- Ok well maybe GBM could print off some lifesize JL pics for the mile markers or something?

In fact, maybe auditions could be held for several hundred good-looking men as well as women to provide support round the course to make it more attractive?

I am full of great ideas

According to the RW US forum thread Heartbreak Hill is 0.4 miles long and has a rise of about 80 feet. New Zealand Road is half a mile and has an overall 90ft of climb. I think the difference is that Heartbreak Hill occurs just after 20 miles, right where you don't really want to be slogging up such a hill.

J8 looked very fresh this evening. Almost a man possessed .

Heartbreak ain't that big but it is the 4th and last of a sequence of hills and it preys on the mind, especially when the temperature has topped 90. However NZ Rd is probably a pretty good place to prepare.

Fast finish long runs with some hills near the end, as much for the psychological benefit as anything else, ie don't do all your long runs on MWW.
14/12/2012 at 06:47

NI- This year's marathon training wasn't solely on the MWW, we mixed it up with a few Morrisons runs, Disley runs and Winscar bridge.

Every run I do I try and run as fast as possible up Hollins lane which is half a mile up hill.

Good session last night and thanks for the company

Mort - yes I was impressed with that too. Usually when I missed off results (it happens on a regular basis) I dont get in AW. Did you notice the pissy comment in the piece about the West Yorkshire XC league about my club? The "now unheralded Denby Dale Travellers". Thought that was a bit unecessary.

Glad to have cleared up the worm mystery BB. My mum has bags of the horrid things as she is obsessed with feeding birds.

Stuck at home and unable to get to work this morning because of black ice everywhere.

fantastic day out around Kinder today - glorious in the low winter sunshine

4 hour score events are the way ahead for me I think, as I finished 52nd/169

PPP, did I remeber correctly that you were thinking of doing the Ribble 10k?  Did you enter?

Anyone else doing it - it's 30th December?  If I can get a pass out may give it a go if it's not full.

17/12/2012 at 09:26
Well done daz! Are you well into BG mode then?
17/12/2012 at 09:39
