I was thinking of running Ribble 10k but surely Kwaka's Winter Warmer will be the quality 10k race that morning?  ;)  so that's where I'll be.  Mini-Bob is running too.

Hopefully might get some half decent weather and it wont getcancelled again.

mort - kind of... November was a "calm before the storm" (read: lazy) month, but I am now making a conscious effort to wind up my mileage/ascent...

J8,  Hopefully I should be about, haven't done that one for ages too and will make a pleasant change.

Are you looking at 8am? I think the loop can be around 16 miles and it is hilly and Have to look at my old fetch routes to see.

Does anyone have an old broke Garmin 201 or know of anyone. I'm after the cradle and charger not the unit. It has a different charger system to the 301.

A friend of mine has the unit but not the bits that go with it.

SARQ- 8am is fine with me,not sure of the complete route so it might be a good idea to check it out.

Johan this route is from my house, but the route from tescos is 16 miles, will feel more like 18+. Trail shoes if it's really wet I think.

SARQ - thats my route! I invented it, you just followed me.

Might join you on Saturday, would make more sense for me and J8 to start from my house, could you meet us there rather than us two travelling to Portwood?

18/12/2012 at 12:58

JMC, actually Mike Shaw showed me this the first part, you showed me the canal bit. And stop changing the original plan as It's quite close for me and UB.

18/12/2012 at 14:01

SARQ - can we change the timing as then I (and J8) could run from my house and meet you at Portwood and do the 2nd half with you. If we met you at 8:30 that would be better.

18/12/2012 at 14:04

sarq - i do, but they might as well take the unit itself as well as it is no use to me without the charger and cradle

nice work Daz

18/12/2012 at 14:38

JMC, ask J8 not me.

I'm setting off at 8am either from my house (if you're going later) or Tiviot dale (as planned ) at 8am, as I'll need to get back.

Clarister, what price you after for it, you can DM if you want and I can let him know if he's interested as he now thinking of just getting a 301 or 205. Thanks.

18/12/2012 at 18:09

J8 - Just stuck the Werneth Low run on Facebook - 14 miles exactly from our 'ouse

18/12/2012 at 19:18

hi sarq - its sat in my drawer gathering dust so am not after a price per se, happy for it to go to a good home with the proviso that it gets returned if it gets upgraded..

18/12/2012 at 19:37

clairster- Don't give it to him- he can't even get your name right!

18/12/2012 at 19:37

JMC- I have made arrangements to meet UB,so going with the original plan and meeting SARQ at 8 am

MH- Thanks for that, I'll have a go at that over Christmas.

UB- Thanks for the run earlier

Thought I'd take a chance and put a Grindleford reccie suggestion forward, knowing full well that JMC will come along and change it anyway.

Friday 28th January - 7.30am train from Marple, arrive Grindleford 8.11am.  Return train from Grindleford at 12.29pm, arriving back in Marple at 1.06pm.  Just over 4 hours for the reccie should be ample and we've done this comfortably before.  If things go wrong then we have a couple of pints in Grindleford and get the 2.29pm return.  The other option is to get the 9.44am from Marple and get the 2.29pm return.  Any other suggestions?

Anything happening about a Christmas Eve run?  We normally have a nice leisurely group run around Lyme Park or similar.

18/12/2012 at 22:04

Eric - My suggestion would be to do the recce on 28th December instead .

18/12/2012 at 23:09
Clairster, thats very kind of you. Ill ask him tomorrow.
That took 2 attemots to get your name right.
