ES- That was the plan
Maybe first one out easy then faster back and so on.
ES- Just thought, 3 reps wouldn't work or you could cut through to your house via the rabbit on the MW.
I reckon GBM saw the long range weather forecast before he tricked us all into entering 4V !

J8, unlike GBM you are not fat or lazy. So why are you not running 4V? I would have thought a 1/2 marathon would fit nicely with marathan training.
BHB- I had every intention of running it but getting "man flu" over Christmas has put my Boston training back 3 weeks.
So rather than just run it as a training run and get slated on here, I decided to give it a miss.
Looking at the weather forecast I think I made the right decision, you might need a pair of skis for that last down hill section.
Best of luck to all of you running.
Hi all. My running is not great at all at the moment, what with Xmas and the fact I am going to New Zealand this time next week!! It's only 25-30 degrees there at the moment. I am so sad about that!
I entered 4 Villages but there is no way I am fit enough nor have time to partake in it this weekend so I have a number going if anyone fancies running in sub zero temps in ice and snow, just let me know and I can get the number to you!
Jonah - great reply!
Good luck on the MW - it will be an ice rink I bet!
J8, I think you are safe from criticism like that. But if people are not racing for that reason then that is a pity.
I hope 4V goes ahead. I've had an enforced gentle two weeks with a cold and working away and am treating it as a taper. I'll be giving the race my best shot and will start off at PB pace. However not sure how realistic it is to be still PBing, so it may all go tits up at mile 10.
BHB- The reason I'm not doing it is simple I'm not fit enough, 6lb over weight.
I'd be lucky to go under 1.30 but I've had a good solid week of training and things are heading in the right direction.
With how well you have been training over the past few months I expect a really fast time(weather permitting) from you, which you deserve.
Best of luck.
J8 - surely the best training for marathon is to race a HM as hard as you can. If it goes tits up at 10 miles then just call it a training run. But then again you might just press on up the hill and down to decent time.
I'm looking forward to 4V. I'm not keen on road racing when it is very cold but at least we know in advance to wrap up. I think that it will be on as they've run it before in very icy conditions ... not unlike S10 2010.
BHB - and if you don't get a really fast time, rest assured - you will be slated for it!
RB- You are quite right, maybe in a few weeks time, normally I only run 1 or 2 halfs a year .
M6- Why don't you come along on Saturday, you could do 10 with us.
Not telling you how to suck eggs, I've been on the MW 3 times this week and trail shoes would be the best option.
there is a LOT of snow settling in Runcorn as I type this - Helsby will be similar...
Good luck to everyone doing 4 Villages. Hope the race goes ahead and isn't too treacherous. At least you won't have to deal with gale force winds like last year!
Good luck to Daz as well.
RB-re. 4V-there's a hill and ice? sounds fun , wonder if it's worth doing in hybrid trail shoes, i've got Nike kayote trail, with a slight stud.
