Anyone know when the cheap London Train tickets are out? I thought it was 12 weeks before but they dont look all that cheap at the moment.

Congrats to Stockport on tremendous results at the Northerns!

Well done Stockport!!!

I'm ill again!!!!  I'm currently getting more colds than Minnie6! I started feeling a bit rough on Thursday and over the weekend it turned into Man Flu!!!!!! But as i'm already weeks and miles behind in my VLM training i forced myself out over the weekend and did 3 short rubbish runs. This has made my Man Flu even worse and i have now developed the almost deadly 'Gingerbread Man Flu!!!!!!' So no running for me for at least a few days.

M/SW--Did you need to see me tonight or will this weekend or next Monday be ok?

Jonah8--Sorry but i won't be up for the headtorch run tomorrow.

Eric/M/SW--I will let you know if i'm up for The Mickledon Straddle in a few days.

GBM - no rush whatsever. Get lots of vitamin c down your neck and keep warm.

Hope you are better for Mickledon as I need someone to look after M and pull him out of bogs (peat ones not the cottaging kind!) and things but its praps not the easiest race to do if you are feeling ill. The weather is bound to be sh*te on Sunday.

Yeah well done Stockport - not often that you finish a whole team in front of WRC .  Also good results in juniors - both mini-Bobs came away with team medals.

That was a seriously tough course - foot deep muddy slush without a yard of runnable surface.

Blistas were thin on the ground though with JMC sitting it out after a tough training session last week.

28/01/2013 at 15:39

Jonah8 - I'm still up for 25 laps on Thursday - hopefully GBM will have recovered by then. What time are you starting? GBM says he wasn't well on Saturday, but he looked so good motoring through Poynton around 9.50am, I was distracted and was almost picked up by the Police speed trap!

RB - well done at the Northerns - considering the conditions, you had a great result. I'm not sorry to have missed it.

28/01/2013 at 17:12

Yes great results - senior women got gold and senior men got silver (no thanks to me). I have to say I hated every second of it. 11k of constantly trying not to trip over mounds of mud / slush / snow. This XC season is turning into a complete disaster and I'm really starting to think I'm not cut out for it.

Well done RB - great running again.

Mr PG is getting inspired + frightened with the likes of RB impressing out of his comfort zones ! Maybe I'll stick to chasing the mini-bobs as they are pretty rapid too !

Hope to see you guys on a start line soon !  Mowgli

JS are you running  much,  I am up to 25 mpw now with a speed session pending..

28/01/2013 at 19:51

Cheap VLM train tickets available!!!!!!!!

BB--I think that should say 9.50min/mile rather than 9.50am.

28/01/2013 at 20:24

BB- Getting to track about half 6, track empty so you can get most of the session done before it fills up.

28/01/2013 at 21:35
Yeah, congrats to all Stocky Harriers who raced the Northerns. Conditions underfoot were incredibly energy sapping, both mini-Bobs had excellent races. It was pretty unfair for the people at the back of the pack, those tigers looked pretty hungry.

PG / Mowgli - Thought I was heading towards my first track session a couple of weeks back but things have gone down hill again. Running sucks! Glad to hear things are looking up for you though.

SARQ - How's the new bike? Are you getting many miles in? I'm out most weekends, sometimes with Funk on a Sat then DB and sometimes Mr S & BTB on a Sunday. If you ever want to join us give us a shout.

Well done to all those who did the xc on Sat.
29/01/2013 at 20:29

JS, new bike is great, although I haven't been on it much lately due to crap weather, so been hitting the turbo trainer. Tend to do 1-2 hours and watch a film at the same time.

On the road, I usually do a Sunday morning at 8am for around 3hrs or so. And commute in the week. I'll look to hook up sometime. Where do you meet up and ride to?

29/01/2013 at 21:30
GBM- hope you are feeling better. Funnily enough, I have had another cold too! Pesky kids-luckily just a snotty one this time!!!
If anyone fancies a nice trot round Lyme Park or the hills of Chinley, M6 and I are free on Sunday! There could be cake!
29/01/2013 at 21:37

cake....................non runners welcome?

29/01/2013 at 22:24

SARQ - On Sundays we tend to meet at DB's between Hazel Grove and Marple some time between 8-9am. The route is decided on the day but generally if it's nice we do hills, in the past have been up Holm Moss, Snake Pass or over to the Peak District, etc, or if the weather's crap we stay lower level and head out Knutsford, Holmes Chapel way. Usually do around 50-60m and are back by 12:30-1pm ish. We also try and squeeze a coffee n cake stop in when possible .

dear all, if any of you are coming this way and have the time Sue has a detached retina and is having to spend her days lying on her side for a couple of weeks. Please call and say hello, She will be glad of any company even TBs I guess.

JS - did think I might try a ride with you when my arm is better but 50-60 miles I will think again, that is good riding well done.

30/01/2013 at 08:14

ES - have printed off maps for Sunday. Looking at 2011 results, 1st man was back in 1:46 but he's quite tasty over the fells .

30/01/2013 at 08:45
TST - Ouch that sounds painful! Please pass on my best to Sue. Heard about your arm, sounded nasty, hope you're recovering well.
30/01/2013 at 14:17

I'm taking Friday off work to do a training day up in the Lakes
not specifically BG route though - decided to potter about on the Coniston fells for a change
company welcome
