His pacing is stupidly even!!

Looks like RC is flying, through half in 1:22:22. I barely managed that at Wilmslow

Rotten luck PPP!

7k to go, think he's going to nail it, with 15 secs spare.

GBM's looking good, hope he holds it together

Only 7km to go and RC's still on for sub 2:45. GBM and Charlie Batho both looking good as well. Go on lads

GBMs getting faster, Rbs slowing, RCs holding it togethr nicely.

RB top 100, nice one.

RC 2.44.23 excellent even pacing

What a brilliant effort from RC.  Saw him on the finish line camera on 2.44:59.  I tracked him the whole way and it was superb pacing.

21/04/2013 at 12:55

I don't belieeeeve it, GBM's done it again!!!

Great running from RC and GBM.

GBM even had the energy for a cheek wave at the camera when he crossed the line.

Didn't follow it I was at work but RC and GBM's times don't surprise me, I seem to remember predicting that RC would go sub 2.45 next marathon

Great times by the pair of you anybody know anymore times?

I think FOAR did 3:14:37 and Poacher 3:12:22

Well done all VLMers. Spotted Foxy, TB and of course WITGB.

Whilst I don't think I will ever do another marathon, I am inspired to get running more!

21/04/2013 at 17:07
Cracking running folks, GBM everyone except you knew you could do that.
FOAR excellent time 6 days after Boston
WITGB, nice one too, did what you said you would
3.12 for me, happy with that what with injuries and limited training, did what needed to be done in an unspectacular way and the costume worked OK
21/04/2013 at 17:47

Congrats VLMers again.

BHB how did you get on old timer?

21/04/2013 at 17:56

Well done all at work so couldn't watch.

GBM Knew you could do it after seeing your marathon pace session.

SARQ how did you do at the 25?

21/04/2013 at 17:57

Well done to all the VLMers. FOAR - great time only 6 days after Boston. Also a great result by RB at 2.36, which put him in the top 100 overall and 6th in his age group. Nobody thought GBM's Amsterdam result was a fluke and today proved it. WITGB - clearly showing the benefits of Jantastic! Very good sub-3 by Charlie Batho and a near miss by Jayne.

So let's get the most important race report of the day out of the way. Bushy Park Run is a massive event, over 1000 people on the start line. Bit of a tricky one this as I didn't know the course and there were no km markers on the way round. Set off at a pretty good pace but had to make my way through the crowd for the first km. After approx 1pm I was in about 10th place and feeling good. Some of the Southern Softies were struggling with the pace and by 3kmhad moved up to 5th. Still feeling strong but not quite certain how much further to go. Went round some posh fountain and surprised to see the finish line in the distance. Unfortunately my initial pace had been too conservative and despite a final sprint could only hold 5th place and a Park Run pb of 17:16. My attendance at the race had clearly been leaked as I was handed a glass of champagne as soon as I crossed the finishing line. Someone had gone to the effort of baking cakes as well. My daughter had a great race with a 2min pb of 21:26, followed 3min later by my son who also got a big pb.

Apparently there was some other poxy race going on in London today but can't imagine anyone is interested in the results of that!

Well done JMC - impressive results for the whole JMC clan at Bushy! Just noticed that TB had a very good result at VLM, considering his continuing injury issues. He must have followed some of his own coaching advice!

BB - or did a gallop run again. But not in the prizes this time.

For all those who finished remember you are one of the few who can do a marathon.

PPP - we know you can
