Thanks for the run today GBM (aka L-KA), Jonah, Foxy, Eric, SW & M. First run for me longer than 16 since Boston and it was an enjoyable route with good company. While I didn't spot anything as unusual as a Bee Eater, it was good to see one of the usual herons taking off as we passed it on the canal.
BB - I have missed running on the canal around New Mills, and always love to see the Herons. It is very hot isn't it. Feels abnormal for it to be this hot in New Mills. WITGB said he is doing Dovedale Dipper next weekend. Anyone else doing this? Should I be doing this one too Lee (personal trainer)?
Yes, thanks for the run this morning. 24 for me in total and at a quicker pace than my C2C run. Just returned after a game of golf and my legs feel absolutely shot to pieces! Can't believe I missed the cake - that'll teach me to run straight home. Great route and company.
May be tempted by Dovedale Dipper. I was supposed to be staying at my mates in Marsden on Saturday following his BBQ but we're coming home now so it depends how much I drink!
Good to see NI at parkrun this morning, will let him comment on his performance. I am down to 22.11 which is good as it was 23.45 at the beginning of July. What could I do at a sizzler? 21.45 in June
TST. Better get hold of Kwaka, they have you down for 24.33 for today's park run
might have a go at Dovedale Dipper myself all depends if we celebrate a week early for our 25th wedding anniversary
Thanks to all for the run this morning.
CC--Well done for doing base training whilst on your hols! Dovedale dipper could be a good thread turnout. Me, TB, Mort, Clairster, WITGB and possibly yourself, Eric and Jonah8.
J8 - you had me worried there, 24.33 was last week when we had the avoid the carnival and go down by the river route, this weeks are not confirmed yet.
Eric-- Bob Graham Round Map.
TST my apologies
Looks like I maybe doing Dovedale dipper then. Is that ok with my training plan GBM? I am down for 16 miles this week. Should I do that on Thurs or just do Dove dale dipper? or both?! Hope not! Not sure how far DD is (think WITGB said it was 24 miles), Is it ok to enter on the day? Sounds like a good turnout!
CC--Cancel Thursdays long run and do the Dovedale Dipper instead. We are treating it as a very easy, time on our feet, long run and you will be doing the same. I think you can enter on the day or the entry form can be found here -
DD entry form.
CC-welcome home, 26.5 miles. Has GBM got you on the wheat free regime?
TST-well done on your continuing improvement.
There's a nice short fell race coming up on Tuesday 6 August at Bradwell, if anyone's got the energy after DD.
BHB, Monday this week is out, sorry. I'm running in the morning. Tuesday race, hols next week, so week after should be fine, Good luck with the sizzler anyway.
ES - I ate your cake! Was so knackered after Saturdays run, I slept through burglar alarm going off early hours of Sunday and M knocking over and breaking a lamp. No burglars - just a power cut .
Enjoyed the run though - great to run somewhere different with good company.
Jonah8 and i are starting our evening MW runs tomorrow evening. 12 miles with a few at Marathon Pace. 5.30pm at Rose Hill. All welcome.
one of my most enjoyable days ever in the Lakes last Saturday, doing the Old Crown Roundwell organisedfriendly, helpful marshalsbeer on the summits!SUPERB routeglorious weather and I even had a half-decent run
here are some photos taken by a fellow Fell Ponyhttp://3294602.tifmember.com/?Action=_VC&id=133293202&ppwd=ocr
I am only in a couple near the end, as (miserable anti-social git that I am) I accidentally got separated from the "herd" at the start, and went round on my own!
Is track on tonight? I have just looked on Stockport Harriers website and there is no session down for tonight! I am engaging in wishful thinking that my first night back at track for months may not happen.
CC- As sub coach I will let you have tonight off then
CC--There is no such thing as a sub coach but there is a track session tonight. I don't know what the session is though.
See you later then. I will be there. I am dedicated to my coach and plan.
