CC-welcome home, 26.5 miles. Has GBM got you on the wheat free regime?
TST-well done on your continuing improvement.
There's a nice short fell race coming up on Tuesday 6 August at Bradwell, if anyone's got the energy after DD.
BHB, Monday this week is out, sorry. I'm running in the morning. Tuesday race, hols next week, so week after should be fine, Good luck with the sizzler anyway.
ES - I ate your cake! Was so knackered after Saturdays run, I slept through burglar alarm going off early hours of Sunday and M knocking over and breaking a lamp. No burglars - just a power cut .
Enjoyed the run though - great to run somewhere different with good company.
Jonah8 and i are starting our evening MW runs tomorrow evening. 12 miles with a few at Marathon Pace. 5.30pm at Rose Hill. All welcome.
one of my most enjoyable days ever in the Lakes last Saturday, doing the Old Crown Roundwell organisedfriendly, helpful marshalsbeer on the summits!SUPERB routeglorious weather and I even had a half-decent run
here are some photos taken by a fellow Fell Ponyhttp://3294602.tifmember.com/?Action=_VC&id=133293202&ppwd=ocr
I am only in a couple near the end, as (miserable anti-social git that I am) I accidentally got separated from the "herd" at the start, and went round on my own!
Is track on tonight? I have just looked on Stockport Harriers website and there is no session down for tonight! I am engaging in wishful thinking that my first night back at track for months may not happen.
CC- As sub coach I will let you have tonight off then
CC--There is no such thing as a sub coach but there is a track session tonight. I don't know what the session is though.
See you later then. I will be there. I am dedicated to my coach and plan.
Congrats are due to Nick Ham being one of only 124 finishers (from 274 starters) in the Lakeland 100 in a very nippy time of 33:37 (hours!)
and in other race news...Tarus Elly won the Meerbrook 15k by 4 clear minutes!
That is an amazing achievement by Nick!
There will be a Marathon Talk 'Magic Mile' at the Monday night training session on 2 Sept at 7pm. I think everyone who took part last year enjoyed it, including Juniors and Wheelchair athletes. If you're interested, here is a link to the Magic Mile section on the MT website: http://marathontalk.com/challenges/magic_mile.php You can register here (for free) and you'll be sent weekly training tips.
That is very timely BB. I was thinking that it was about time I trained for and tried a mile again. There is also the Harriers Open Mile around the same time. Bring on the speed and ditch the long runs!
In fact it seems like the Harriers Mile is the day before.
Probably because there is an article in RW about someone who sounds quite a lot like some of us on here, who managed to train for a run a sub 5.
Has anyone tried Beetroot Juice as a stamina boosting veg? I bet JMC has. Also in this month's RW.
BHB-it's obviously not working
J8/GBM-thanks, time for a cold beer and pizza
TB you have jumped the gun there as I've not tried it
UTLD 50/100 was super harsh ths year..so many retirees
CC - how bizarre! I defo didnt call you! I also water logged my phone..I put it in the washing machine! glad you doing DD is it a team outing??
TB/GBM. Thanks for the run, nice steady 12 miles 1.23 so not a bad start to the marathon training.
followed by a chicken kebab in Rusholme with my youngest daughter
BHB-I eat a lot of beetroot, I've also gone very organic, not quite in the Morticia mode, still your message was aimed at JMC who does seem to be struggling with his running at the moment.
