ES - I ate your cake! Was so knackered after Saturdays run, I slept through burglar alarm going off early hours of Sunday and M knocking over and breaking a lamp. No burglars - just a power cut .

Enjoyed the run though - great to run somewhere different with good company.

I am only in a couple near the end, as (miserable anti-social git that I am) I accidentally got separated from the "herd" at the start, and went round on my own!

Is track on tonight? I have just looked on Stockport Harriers website and there is no session down for tonight! I am engaging in wishful thinking that my first night back at track for months may not happen.

Congrats are due to Nick Ham being one of only 124 finishers (from 274 starters) in the Lakeland 100
in a very nippy time of 33:37 (hours!)

There will be a Marathon Talk 'Magic Mile' at the Monday night training session on 2 Sept at 7pm. I think everyone who took part last year enjoyed it, including Juniors and Wheelchair athletes. That is very timely BB. I was thinking that it was about time I trained for and tried a mile again.  There is also the Harriers Open Mile around the same time.  Bring on the speed and ditch the long runs!

Probably because there is an article in RW about someone who sounds quite a lot like some of us on here, who managed to train for a run a sub 5.

Has anyone tried Beetroot Juice as a stamina boosting veg?  I bet JMC has.  Also in this month's RW.

TB/GBM. Thanks for the run, nice steady 12 miles 1.23 so not a bad start to the marathon training.

BHB-I eat a lot of beetroot, I've also gone very organic, not quite in the Morticia mode, still your message was aimed at JMC who does seem to be struggling with his running at the moment.
