I'll start.. The infants have just started up with this one.

Away in a manger
no crib for a bed
the little lord Jesus laid down his sweet head
The stars in the bright sky looked down where he lay.
The little lord Jesus asleep on the hay!!!

happy Crimbal one and all!

Actually, I sound better singing virtually!!

OK my go...

Once in Royal David's city
stood a lowly cattle shed
where a mother laid her baby
in a manger for his bed
Mary was that mother mild
Jesus was the little child..

Barkles, you're right. I have a better virtual voice...

We wish you a merry Christmas,
We wish you a merry Christmas,
We wish you a merry Christmas,
And a happy New Year,

Barkles, if this keeps coming down I'm doubtful for later.

DB, me too!

ok they're onto

Lift up lightly the stable bar
weary wise men come from afar
brought by the little kings bright new star
is the little king sleeping?

This singing on the web lark is a doddle.

You've got a great voice though. Should we form the forums first ever male voice choir?

Any tips on surviving my first ever Reception class carol thingy tomorrow?

Ding dong merrily on high
In heaven the bells are ringing
Ding dong merrily the sky
Is riven with angels singing

Glooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ria
Hosannah in excelsis

I used to think that that line was "Hosannah lives in Chelsea". Could never work out the connection between Christmas and Chelsea.

Let earth recieve here King;
let every heart prepare him room,

O come ye, O come ye to Lo-ndon Town
Come and try It, the Flora London Mar'thon
O come a-nd cheer us,
O come a-nd sponsor us,
O come a-nd adore Her, Pau-au-la.

O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by
Yet in the dark streets shineth
The everlasting light
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight.

We three traders of Leicester Square
Selling bras a penny a pair
So fantastic
No elastic
Buy your wife a pair

Last Christmas I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
This year to save me from tears,
I'll give it to someone special....

Good King Wenceslas went out
In a cabbage garden
Bumped into a brussels sprout
Said "I beg your pardon".

Oh, OK then...a real one.

Little children, wake and listen
Songs are breaking o'er the earth
While the stars in heaven glisten
Hear the news of Jesus' birth
Long ago, through lonely meadows
Angels brought the message down
Still each year, through midnight shadows
It is heard in every town.

Hey why am I singing a solo? Have you ALL forgotten this one? It was my favourite when I was a nipper and I was most unimpressed when the Church of Scotland dropped it in a hymn book update about 25 years ago.

The BEST thing about being a runner is having enough puff to do those "Glo-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-rias without stopping to take a breath in the middle.

"Come", they told me
"A new-born King to see"

Extract from The best “Christmas Carol” ever!

Fairytale of New York – The Pogues & Kirsty Macoll

You were handsome
You were pretty
Queen of New York City
When the band finished playing
They howled out for more
Sinatra was swinging,
All the drunks they were singing
We kissed on a corner
Then danced through the night
The boys of the NYPD choir
Were singing "Galway Bay"
And the bells were ringing out
For Christmas day

You're a bum
You're a punk
You're an old slut on junk
Lying there almost dead on a drip in that bed
You scumbag, you maggot
You cheap lousy faggot
Happy Christmas your arse
I pray God it's our last

I could have been someone
Well so could anyone
You took my dreams from me
When I first found you
I kept them with me babe
I put them with my own
Can't make it all alone
I've built my dreams around you

Happy Christmas all!!

O come, o come Ema-a-a-nuel
And ransom captive I-i-i-srael
That mourns in lonely e-e-xile here
Until the Son of Go-o-o-d appear
Oh come, oH come, Ema-a-a-nuelshall come to thee
O I-i-i-srael

Well, it IS still Advent.
