So.. last night... Mum phones. In THAT voice she says "what are you doing on Christmas Day..?" (she's asked me 3 times and I've been a bit vague). So I says "I'm doing nothing". She gets all worried and says "but I don't like to think of you by yourself on Christmas Day". So I explain... it's the only day of the year when EVERYONE I know is BUSY. So I can do what I like... I shall be doing the following...

Having a lie-in until 10am.
Getting up and eating breakfast of chocolate log (well, maybe not but I can if I want)
Watching TV all day
Sitting in front of the fire with a glass (or several) of mulled wine
Watching more TV
Cooking my own lunch of curry and rice (if I want)
Watching more TV
May ring some friends and family (Oz & USA)
Drinking more mulled wine and eating more chocolate log
Watching more TV
Going to bed early

No fuss. No hassle. No driving. No screaming kids. No arguing family.

Bliss.

So what are you doing..?

Why don't you go to your Mum's?

Sezz, cos it's the other side of town, I'd have to drive and my brothers and their brats will be there.

Jon, good plan.

I don't think there's much call for prostitutes on Christmas Day, is there? I don't know, myself... Just making assumptions, Melds. ;)

LOL!

within 7 posts and an innocent thread decends to the depths. Kwality!

That's not very Christmassy spirit Cath.

We shall possibly start the day with a run, then have lovely breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambed eggs with lovely lodger, then driving down to my brother's for rest of the day and drinking and eating lots and lots. Probably will go for long walk at some point with the dog.

Yep, Cath... I've not lost it!
22/12/2006 at 09:50
LOL Jon!

I believe Meldy might be giving you a Yucker for Christmas.
22/12/2006 at 09:50

22/12/2006 at 09:55
Stingy? Well yes, I have to admit, I do have a prick and I do sometimes use it! :)
22/12/2006 at 09:56
LOL!

Right, you kids behave yourself. I'm going to the bank. (no, not to pay Melds)

Heres mine:

Get woken up by my 10 year old brother in law at 7am (if I am lucky that would be a lie in....)
Set up the new PC and the broadband and install the antivirus software and all that.
Sit said child on PC and go for a run.
Have breakfast, a bacon roll methinks
Go to other relatives (oh at some point open pressies)
Go for lunch at hotel. Drink copious amounts
Visit the other side of the wifes family, drink copious amounts

Go back and sleep all the above off. Hopefully no arguments occur between times.

I intend to prove that mixing drink is not a bad thing. maybe have some turkey at some point.

I'll be starting the day by swimming in the sea. Then it'll be eating and drinking for the rest of the day, with maybe a gentle stroll outside after lunch.

Minks .... do you have to produce a notice of impending usage in case he/she/it misses the moment?

Mr W
Would love to have done that. Not allowed even to drive so getting p*ssed is the best option............
