So what have you all got planned for 13th October and Paula's Chicago run? I shall be in a comfy seat, with a beer, trying to hear the TV over my two kids.

Got a 10k in the morning in Dulwich so won't feel too bad about watching a marathon in the afternoon. The comfy seat & beer approach sounds good but there'll be no kids in my house.

Seat and beer aswell!

Henley Half Marathon? Depends if I don't get drunk on the night before.

Comfy seat, door locked, telephone off the hook.

PB - can't you tie the kids up and gag them?

I suppose so, Nessie, but that would be a little harsh on the poor things! Kids will take precedence if necessary, but hopefully I can coax wife into entertaining them for the 2:17 minutes that Paula will be running!

Going to see A-Ha at Wembley the night before so I'll probably be hungover and starstruck on the sofa having redeveloped my teenage crush..... but will definitely be watching the race - with beer also. No kids yet, ha ha!

I've got the Kingston Running Festival. But what time is it on?

The same as you Pernickity, two "little uns" to contend with aswell. Beer and sofa sound great. I can rest the weary legs from the mornings 15K race.

Coverage starts at 1:30pm.

Anyone see the Superman advert for Paula running Chicago that they showed during the Great North Run coverage?

Cheers Linca. Excellent, I will be home by then. Beers, wine, whatever, maybe some champers (well sparkling wine), cheering Paula on.

PB, thanks for the reminder. I shall definately be having a few cold ones that afternoon (double the normal amount as it's also birthday - well the next day, but i like to start early like Caz !)

By the way PB - good run on sunday (Lewes 10) that's an excellent time for 10m over what sounds like an extremely hard course.

Caz - you could have all 3 - beer, wine and champagne...... and then sleep for the rest of Sunday.. and Monday.

Thanks GL. I aim to do better in future. Now thinking about Barns Green 1/2 M!

Problem with watching Paula run is that I feel I *have* to go running afterwards!!! If I have had several beers, that's not too clever.

Gareth, you make it sound like I drink a lot, hick!! (Actually we all got pretty plastered on the boat trip on Friday night and a good time was had by all, and no casualties overboard either.) Happy Birthday for next Monday. (How old?)

PB, I watched the elite athlete's finish the GNR yesterday and then went out for a run, then watched the rest come in when I got back. I felt good watching it after I'd already been out.

Yes - a possible idea bune, but it is after watching her I want to run, even if I'm knackered...

Not having a TV at home I think I'll have to install myself infront of one in the gym for the afternoon!
