Mine was eye of the tiger by survivor from the Rocky film.

I'm 38 now so it must have been 30 years ago ish..

Aha, "Take On Me" on 12". I still have, it and have recently started buying vinyl again.

The Muppets album. At a jumble sale, when I was about 7. I think I'd still laugh at Kermit singing 'Lydia the Tattooed Lady' if I listened to it today.

Buck's Fizz. It was an album (because even then I'd worked out an album was better value than a single). Oh deary me...

I bought American Pie by Don McClean and Without you by Nilsson on the same day in 1972, with money given to me for my 13th birthday, first one is still a favourite today, and always on my MP3

Perry Como - a 78 with 'Catch a Falling Star' on one side and 'Magic Moments' on the other.  It cost 7/6 (if you can understand that then you are nearly as old as me ).

Anyone else of, ahem, a certain age remember those LPs on the Hallmark label (I think) that looked like compilations of hits but were actually crappy covers?

Can't remember how many times I was taken in by them.

First vinyl single was Need you tonight by INXS when big bro bought a record player. I think I'd bought a few tapes before that Duran Duran Rio might have been the first tape.

The first album I had abought for me was by the Bay City Rollers and I got it with a second hand record player for my birthday ... about 7 or 8?
I didn't buy many singles, I used to tape the songs off the top 40 pn Sunday afternoons! But two singles I remeber buying are David Bowie Ashes to Ashes, and Blondie Sunday Girl.
