A camel in a field on a posh country estate nearly made me stop during a race. Went along the same route this week and there was now 2 of them. That did make me stop just to check that I wasn't seeing double.

A badger ran straight at me on Friday night, then veered off and disappeared into the undergrowth, then a 100m on an owl flew straight across the road in front of me. I've seen lots of owls but never a badger.

Once when we were in Spain on holidays MrGFB was out a bike ride and a massive bird flew over head and dropped a snake in his pathway!!  That stopped him in his tracks!!

Back in the summer I was stopped dead by a rogue butterfly that decided to fly straight in to my face - I am terrified of butterflies!!!!

Yes. Insects of all kinds going down your throat are a nuisance. I run past a bush that always has loads of wasps round it in the summer.

I stop dead when I'm running at break-neck speed in the early hours alone & an owl with greets me with a HOOT. I just have to stop & HOOT my greetings back!

This did not happen to me but recently a friend was rather stunned to see a teenager being chased down the high street by an Emu; in Devon!
