What's the psychology behind the VLM magazine covers?

So, the sorry mag has a picture of someone running as Elvis on the front who doesn't look like he's running at any speed, whilst the congrats mag has a pic of 2 serious and fit looking runners.

Anyone take a guess at the marketing strategy behind this one?

Ha Ha - the sorry mag has just fallen through my letter box. Serves me right for not getting a GFA time.

I guess it's " if you can't run it properly the run for a charity instead" simple enough.

It's simply to kick you when you're down

So Elvis is the face of rejection!

Looks like it, he landed in my hall about an hour ago.

This must be a favourite day for the posties, all those magazines to lug around.  Can't wait to get home now!

KK I think it's a case of Return to Sender or could be Woodenheart or Heartbreak Hotel

Elvis is in the building, or at least sitting at home waiting for.

Not sure what the message is.

But I've been beaten by elvis many times and he didn't look he was trying when doing so.

Think the fastest VLM elvis is around 2:45.

I guess the "sorry" version is just rubbing in that the place you could have had has gone to someone who isn't, perhaps, taking the UK Championship seriously.

The champ places are not ballot places. *confused*

Generally, if it looks like piss, it IS piss!

Good rule of thumb with a lot of things.

Every runner could be in with a shot at winning.
