Hi All,
For those of you that don't like slaloms, i'd plan on a good p*ss up after the event, cus you're likely to be in a bad mood, pretty much every slope and some flat bits have slaloms and the ones after the "slalom" are PURE EVIL,
i must say i'm very proud of them, just not looking forward to running them (replace "running" with cautiously picking a route) try not to be too far forward it's best to have a beaten path unless you can jump 4ft brambles

Eleven days to go and time for a long distance weather forecast to see whether it's gonna be just cold or bloody cold....

Close enough to make that water feel colder!!

People at my club last night were saying they'd heard it was oing to get really cold next week. Bloody typical, I think we were quite fortunate last year.

Long range forecasts are usually rubbish....But I like the metcheck version of the end of next week...Snow on Friday night and Saturday then a high of -2oC on the day...Superb!

got my number the other day with those humungous safety pins - very sad to have to send it back as it had 'Tough Guy' emblazoned across it - a title I think I earned in full last year!

still, hopefully will be injury free and stupid enough to attempt it next year - hope you guys have <snicker> 'fun'!

22/01/2006 at 16:42
.......is it best to dress for warmth or protection?
22/01/2006 at 16:52
You're going to be wet, so you WILL NOT be warm, nfs. But you will get cuts and bruises all over, particularly your knees, shins, arms, elbows, ribs, back, head, nose, bum, ankles...

But guys do it in thongs...

[shudders at one particular visual memory]
