Apparently Brooklyn Beckham was scared to go to school after his daft dad admitted purpously getting a suspension for fear of ridicule.

BROOKLYN- I don't want to go to school dad

DAVID -You have to go Son

BROOKLYN- But what about the stick

DAVID- She thinks you should go too

Two defenders?

The man is a monkey... even if you agree with the moral arguement of getting booked to clear the suspension, if he's so "clevvah":-
a) Publicly admitting it was obviously going to get him loads of criticism and possibly further punishment, therefore negating the purpose of doing it in the first place.
b) there are many other ways of securing a yellow card (e.g. deliberately handling the ball, giving the ref. some verbal, etc.) which would not have risked further injury to himself and another player, so why choose the option with the greatest risk?

I cannot see how any additional punishment can be administered on him as, in this age of compensation culture, you have to assume he would be straight to his lawyers (the one's that DO have brains) and wriggling out of it.

I totally agree with you rocks. By admitting it, it kind of make the whole thing pointless.

yup. he looked like some stroppy kid when he barged thatcher, then to say it was to deliberately get sent off, it's just stooooooopid.

Surely they could sting him with the old "disrepute" clauses if they wanted to nail him? It's usually a nice little catch-all to get around lawyers :~)

I'm very disappointed in Beckham's behaviour.

It's unsporting to deliberately get booked, and not becoming of the England captain. He could also have injured himself more seriously and the other player as well.

And it's stupid to admit it.

I'd say ban him for the first match he's fit again.

Despite that, COME ON (Beck-less) ENG-ER-LAND tonight.

Trouble is, Gary, that's not strictly true, is it?

I mean, how many other players could have planted England's second goal?

The man's a buffoon.... but he has talent.

Overated though. We put too much emphasis on him, when he is just a mediocre player. Take away all the glitzy glam stuff and he's your averagely good midfielder.

I agree he's had a very average year or so, but there's an arguement that says if you took away all the glitzy glam stuff then maybe he'd return to being the truly inspirational player he was back in 2000.

An average couple of years. So forget the carp performances and the missed penalties, all the baggage, you may get the player that may have been. Even his free-kicks are overated. Sure they are special when they go in, but they dont go in that often.

The penalities is the worse one. We jib'd Stuart Pearce, Waddle, Southgate, Batty for years and they are self-confessed NON penalty takers. Beckham misses a few in a row when he's supposed to be banging them in.
