Rutland was Rottenland. 3rd marathon this year that it's rained the whole race and was my 3rd marathon in 3 weeks - and I have had enough!
.
Top it off my iphone which I was carrying died and is out of warranty, my garmin watch was playing up from mile 16 to 24, so I cannot look at the elevation gain and review how many calories I've burnt to cheer myself up. I don't have a time but I assume its 5h27 approx. It's my 13th marathon of the year -unlucky4ME. I was so cold gloves and all my clothes were soaking wet, was so cold my muscles felt they were seizing up and I feel traumatized. All year I've had people telling me I must be mad and today I agree with them.
Marshals and cadet were great, so was the hospitality of the italian restaurant at the finish.
SueO - remember Steyning, it's not as bad as Steyning , but it brought back all thoses memories, so I suffered the cumulative effect.
It was great having last night supper and post meal with EKGO.
I'm sure tomorrow, I will look favourably on the race. Since I didn't run that fast , I will definately be in the gym tomorrow, unless I'm shopping for an new iphone. Wednesday I'll be off Thailand (no marathons yepee!) so I can lick my wounds while relaxing in sunshine.
Please please please don't rain in Portsmouth Dec 23.
