Hi All,

 After reading these comments, you have given me the courage to enter. This will be my first race and I'm a bit unsure of what to expect. Can anyone tell me what happens on the day as regards to best place to park my car...changing....do we have to enroll on the day and what would be a good time to get to the event.

I've just had my race pack through.  It come with your t-shirt, race number and 'instructions' and directions...

Or are you entering on the day.

If you're entering on the day, get there at least an hour earlier.  Race start is 10am so get there for 9am. 

At the start there'll be a registration tent where you hand over your tenner and get a race number, which you pin to the front of your top with safety pins you'll be given.

Instructions specify to be at the start line around 20mins before the start.

Parking:  voucher parking by North Road, College Rd, City Hall etc or in the Sophia gardens Car Park.

Hi thanks for the reply, I entered on Tuesday online so mabe I will get a pack in the post on Fri/Sat if not will get there about  09:00 ish with my reference number. Is the start at the castle end?

Hi all i have done this one for the last two years and it is a perfect race for the first timer, a little tip if you are entering on the day ( not just this race, any race ) take your own pins in case they run out. Good luck everyone

Hi All

Just finished this race, I am some what suprised by my time. If my stopwatch is correct I finished in about 19' 12. My pb was set last week during the blackfriers 5k time trail which was 20' 06. It says on the runners world website that the course was measured and certified. Did anyone check the distance using thier garmin or any other type of course distance measuring watch. If anyone can help it would be most  appreciated.

Robert - you've got me thinking now, i got my 1st 5k time of 25.36 at the time trial last saturday... today i got 25.05 according to my hrm but it felt like i was running slower today than last week

perhaps the distance wasnt right if i can easily knock 30 seconds off my time in a week??
