i actually won a competition to go to this, so i was there on sat, and back on sun hence i didnt see a lot of amsterdam, will stay for about 4 days next time.

there WAS a 10k last yr, there were about 10 of us who won, i did the marathon along with another guy, 4 people did the half and another 4 did the 10k...

flights are really cheap over to amsterdam and you can even enter the race ON THE DAY! so you dont really need to go for a package, its easy enough to find the stadium and enter yourself

cheers Santababy, live 10 mins from Leeds/Bradford airport which has a cheap airline flying to Amsterdam so was leaning towards the DIY option

will find you and ask you lots of questions next weekend if thats ok( you are doing lunch after Brass Monkey aren't you?)

I'm up for the full marathon this year I wanted to run London but for various reasons it wasn't an option so Amsterdam is a good alternative.

I have never run in this before so I am looking forward to it.

I have done the half for the last 2 years and enjoyed it so much I might go back for the full this year.
Well organised and easy to get to from Britain with cheap flights with Easyjet or slightly more expensive but bigger choice of times with KLM (from Bristol at least).
Train into Central station takes about 15mins and costs less than £3.50

Im doing Amsterdam if Im still working here ...... where to stay Id recommend Acro Hotel as a cheap but reasonable place to stay. I stayed there for six weeks before moving out the city to Haarlem.
