Yer Maj - I'm like a bad penny. Or should that be euro?

depends if it's greek or german.

Is there a difference?

I'm liking these currency/economy related humourous  jibes

DLR - DO NOT "jog" the Half on Sunday.  I repeat:  Stand Still.  If you run, you'll be pissing and moaning for a month and then I'll have to kill you.

Is DLR considering the half? Did I miss something?..... I was so looking forward to him cheering us on with pom poms...

Now you've gone and done it - you'll be bombarded with them. Not from me mind, I've got more Cents.

A bit of cold earlier in the week but thankfully it is almost gone. Flying out tomorrow morning and almost done with the packing. As the weather looks decent on sunday I decided to race in shorts and short sleeved shirt. Was a bit doubtful about the shoes but decied to go for my New Balance 1064 which should provide enough cushion. The alternative was Asics DS Trainer 17 but as I am 90 kg I think they will be a bit too thin for a road marathon.

What gear will everyone else run in?

Good luck all this weekend to all. Will be looking for a 3:30 ish but woefully underprepared again for an October mara. Should see some of you sat night and hopefully also on the course. Will be in a GB top so hopefully easily identifiable.

dlr - you are injured right?

I'm doing the 6.5k tourist run on Saturday - that'll be fine.   If there's no response to that i might try the half and drop out if/when there's a problem.  See how I feel on the day though.

Flying to Amsterdam tomorrow morning and nerves are starting to build.  Good luck everyone!

On holiday now, having sent out a load of control-freak emails about 'what to do if x,y and z come up when I'm away'. For two days .

No packing done yet, but my flight's not till 3:30 tomorrow so it can wait till the morning.

Stockholm - what shoes did you do your last long run in? Stick with those if you didn't have any problems. I've been trying less cushioned shoes over the summer and after a few long runs in them I'm reasonably confident they'll be OK, but I'd suggest now's not the time to start experimenting.

Hey all, if I don't get time tomorrow before I fly.  HAVE AN AWESOME MARATHON!  see you in the pub afterwards.

I have Envy....

Am experimenting with new shoes on Sun... possibly not such a great idea at this stage but tbh, my last ones have been giving me so much pain I thought I'd feel less stressy in a new pair, have changed from Asics to Brooks.. never had a pair of them before but seriously feels like I'm walking on air.  We shall see!

Are there plans for post race refreshments, sorry, am being lazy and not reading back through everything

Suzy, I think post race drinks are at cafeholeinthewall.
If not, please let me know!

The iPhone app favourites section is working now! Tough to decide which 5 runners to include, and which 106 to snub (yes my running crew is sending 111 people this weekend!!).

Hi Oldscotia, sorry for the delay in coming back to you. I needed 3 nights accommodation and couldn't find anything that worked around just the one night. Many thanks for the offer though. I've managed to sort somewhere for the 3 nights.
