It will be my first 10k!!

And i have a lot of work to do. I'm preparing for the chance that i may come last!

I'll just be happy to get round, its supposedly flat which made it appealing!

Anyone going from Borough of Hillingdon area?

Definitely beginner friendly. Was my 3rd 10k when I did it last year and plenty of company towards the back. A good one to start with.

John Barr 12 did you enter this?

Just noticed its now full!
15/11/2006 at 15:29
crikey ...i didn't expect this to fill will be a very full airfield.

not really done much since the candleford canter, so i'd better get running again :)

domestic goddess wannabee.

I got your response and had another look at the race. Unfortunately I tride this morning and found it full.
I emailed them in case there is a reserve list or cancellations.

Thanks a lot.

Oh have changed my name was John Barr 12 in case your wondering.

ok, let us know if you manage to enter!

good luck with the running :o)

maybe try submitting a postal event. i don't know about this one, but for some they don't let the full allowance of entrants to enter online and reserve some for postal entries :)
15/11/2006 at 16:23
sorry, meant to say 'try submitting a postal entry form' instead of a 'postal event' d'uh!'s been a long day
15/11/2006 at 16:34
Hey thanks to you both.
I will try the postal vote later.

Have entered a 12k at Stratford and 10k at Kelmarsh but they are in the New Year. Will try to get something localish before Christmas so I got something to aim for.

Didn't realise this running was so sociable. Not a substitute for good wine though I hope.

I've entered the Not the Roman IX too, sounds cool, something to aim for after Xmas and an 'interesting' distance
15/11/2006 at 16:46
Great you'll know me cause I probably be on my knees towards the end!!!
15/11/2006 at 16:53
I hadn't seen that one - i'll see how the 10km goes but that seems like a good move up from 10k.

I'll be joining you slow patrol! I'm so slow but its the only way i can keep going!

15/11/2006 at 17:34
Slow Patrol - nothings a substitute for good wine but then I'm biased. Nothing like a good glass of Barolo in preparation for a run.

I too had noticed the Not the Roman IX and will probably enter after this one if it goes ok as 10k has been my limit until now.

Can anyone help me get into this race. I've missed the cut off! Can anyone recommend any 10othek r races before Christmas?
16/11/2006 at 11:21

See above previous messages for a sort of explanation but try postal entry...hope you're successful :)
17/11/2006 at 13:35
I contacted the organisers and they said there were some postal application positions still available.

Just filled in the form and need to post tomorrow..

Have been toying with this or the WAlsall Pudding run...

Opted for this one!

Domestic Goddess - don't stress.. I had exactly the same concerns when I entered myfirst 10k in August!

I doubt you will be last...

Just remember it's your first race so you are certain to get a PB!!

and no matter where you come - you've done more than those sat at home on the sofa!!

Enjoy it!! That's all that matters!!
26/11/2006 at 17:07
Is this not full then?
27/11/2006 at 17:25
Thank you Onionsj aka Twinkle Toes!

Mitten it is full via online entry but i think people have been able to get in with postal votes
