This was my first marathon. I swore to myself that I would do one before I was 40, and I was coerced to try this one out. I'm only 36 and at the end of this I felt I wasn't going to make my next birthday. I faced several demons and truly understood what 'getting into the zone' ment. I completed it in 5hrs 13mins. I nearly vomited at the end but couldn't let wife / kids see me like that. Put on a brave face and slept during car journey home. Again next year? MAYBE
