Me too.

I'm doing great, that was a hard race to plan any type of strategy for. I tried to keep to a  9:20 mile for as much as possible on the flats and make up any time lost on the uphill on the downhill. I think I can go better than 9:20 on the flat and the hills weren't as brutal as I was expecting but brutal enough.

bit chilly but very happy with 1:40 for my first half of the year.

I was quite suprised at how quick the course was as I wasn't really pushing it and I only broke 1:40 twice last year.

Results are out although it only has the gun time - not the chip time. I hope they do put that up too - will make the scrapes I got on my achilles from wearing it seem more worth-while!

It did seem a quick course - I was only 2 mins outside a PB and that was set many years ago on a flat course - not bad for one run a week. Really 'enjoyed' it though - especially the turn-around at mile 10ish so you could see the runners behind. Suffering today with the usual over-exersion aches and pains, and shins have started tingling again: although I was happy to be running downhill for the last mile, my shins thought differently...

Congratulations to all those who took part.

Glad that is the gun time on the results list - beginning to get a bit worried that my watch was out and I hadn't done as well as I thought - had assumed it was chip time!

Mooog - I think I saw you recovering outside the baggage area yesterday - unless there was more than one person with a bleeding achillies from the timing chip! I was stood behind you trying not to keel over!

Fortunately that couldn't have been me Sara - no blood, just scratched and sore from rubbing. Sorry to whoever it was though - what happened to attaching them to your laces? (as I say, it's been about 5 years since my last race!) I felt it during the race but by the time I'd finished everything else was aching so much I'd forgotten all about it! So much so that getting my tracky bottoms back on at the end proved to be a challenge!

It's defo the gun time cos I'd "sprinted" past two people in the last 50m who had over-taken me in the long down-hill, and my result has me a second or two quicker than them. In reality we probably crossed the start line at different times. I was reasonably near the front at the start and it must have take me 15 secs to get over the line.

Hope it's less than 5 years till my next race - I feel quite inspired after that one.

the chip times are all in the above - I had to email the race organisor to get this - not sure why they don't put the link on the website.  Hope you all get a few seconds off!

Nice one gjranit! That confirms it - my Hasselhoff-esque final spurt was entirely unnecessary as the two people I overtook started before me anyway. Still, it felt good at the time! (I believe I can hear the Chariots of Fire music in the background as I type...)

Mooooog - can't think why they can't put the link on the race website!  I still think the published  results are a bit inaccurate - am quite sure the clock said 1.45. something when I finished but my gun time is 1.46.16. Shouldn't 'gun' time be what was on the clock??

These was also that other clock that said 1.49 which momentarily upset me....

Those pesky 4 seconds!

Grrrr!  Have looked at the chip time and missed a PB by 20 secs! Now I'm cross - that was the time I lost tipping a stone out of my sock at mile 3!!

I agree - maybe they will add the link in due course.

I can't recall the clock time as I crossed the line but the chip time matches my stopwatch - it was all a bit of a blur (and not because of my speed you understand!)

I'm sure the other finish clock was reading 00:00:00 ???

There are some photos here of the fun run. I assume the half marathon ones will be added shortly.

Sadly I can't plan another race yet. Have to get my shins sorted first - that can take months if last time was anything to go by

Never mind though, I've got a 10km swim to look forward to in the next couple months instead
