BERLIN Marathon 2012

It's a big town, John. I have, however, booked mine - in Kreuzberg again. Johnas is right - it really doesn't matter where you stay, as the transportation around the town is incredible.

And, seriously, sell out in 3 and a half hours?! Bizarre way to sell a race...

Its quite clever in a cynical way, if you think about it.  By just registering and not having to make a payment the 1st 10,000 go very quickly, and you do not feel you are actually parting with your money.  When it comes to paying in Nov, you're more or less attached.  Also like likely for the site to crash

thought German food is really good, even that pig leg thing... bit expensive though, and the beer is the best. Public transport is a good and the organisation is just about spot on, some congestion at the start and finish but I suppose that's to be expected with 40,000 runners, the expo on the saturday is a total cock up though with people crowded into a corner of an airfield and then let in one by one to get numbers. 

I know there was some discussion by a few about Frankfurt Marathon next year. Just seen this reaction from winner Patrick Makau: "My legs weren't good today, they weren't reacting but I found strength in the end."
