BERLIN MARATHON 2013 REGISTRATION

Wow!  Cannot believe the first 10,000 went that quick!

I suppose more people signed up due to the fact that they dont need to put their money down until november... I wonder if the people who dont complete the registration for the 60 euro bracket would be sold at 60? 

Yes my mate is in at 90 Euro and he was on at 11.05 .............

The three tier system is all a bit odd ..... but as it is first come first served I guess thats fair enough 

Booking hotels and flights early would be the next smart move ........ bedt wishes all

@Eamon - I sorted out my hotel before it opened thinking that everyone would be doing the same. dependent upon the airline - you might not be able to book flights.

@Damien - I think it was due to the fact that it's the 40th anniversary, it's "the" autumn marathon and they're selling out stupidly quick. Chicago sold out in less than a week this year - and normally that one always had entries.

Btw - according to their facebook page: the first 10,000 were sold in less than 1 minute.

booked two hotel's the day i got back from Berlin this year thinking it will be all booked up quick. Just got the flights to do, can;t believe it filled up to 10,000 that quick.

Andy - over 20,000 in less than 40 mins. That's incredible.

Flights with Lufthansa are still good value £79....return with decent baggage allowance that's from Brum.....

Looks like they will hit the 40,000 today as the 110 Euro banding has kicked in so thats 25,000 already  ......

Yes, I am peed off. I forgot it was German time and logged on at 12.02 our time by, then all the cheap places had gone and I had to pay the top whack! But on the upside at least I'm in.

I am in the second tier, the figures may change when people dont actually part with their cash in November!

Registered on €110!! Didn't think would go so quick! Plus thought meant 12pm UK time. Surely they can't release the cheaper ones at the same lower price if people don't pay up? Probably won't get too many signing up at that price now. I did it this year and was amazing. I'm sure I paid €60 a week after the registration opened up! Big difference to the numbers when you don't need to pay upfront! It is an awesome marathon though

Does anyone have any tips in order to keep it cheap? being a student I need to keep the spending down

As the entry fees are for the first 10,000 entrants (not registrations) I suspect it might change.

The email says you will be notified after 05/11 of when to pay, In my view the 60Euro ones will have X days to enter, those that dont enter will lose place and those slots will then be reallocated to the corresponding number of entries from the 90Euro slots (if 500 dont enter then the entries 10,001 to 10,500 will benefit) who will then have to enter by Y date and then it will move onto the 110 Euro entrants.
