The run enters the stadium from behind the north stand runs down the back straight and finished directly in front of the jimmy Armfield south stand, right next to the registration, baggage, expo, changing/showers.
Wow - finishing in front of the (Sir) Jimmy Armfield stand, where I spent many an hour watching the Pool in the 1980's and 1990's - can't wait. It will be odd running in the ground without the risk of getting arrested!!
Nice on runningowl. Unfortunately I have not been able to fit in a race in the build up to the race (my last race was the Snowdonia marathon last October!). However training has gone well - just under 25 miles today (last long run before tape?) - 1st 12 ave 7mm, 2nd 12 ave 6.20. After fading badly at 22miles in last years race, I am hoping that, with the better training this year, I'll beat last years 2h50m - although the weather could, of course, play a part!!
Good effort JB. And I thought my 2:28 for 20 was going some! That run ended my 50 mile week. And like you, let the "taper" commence! Starting with track tonight....
Not long to go,Did Stafford half in just under 1.25 with no rest,so sub 3 hours is still on,
Have booked up at the Footballs Hotel,Does anyone know if they have got a pasta party the night before ?
Hi if anyone is unable to run the full marathon I am am looking for a number. I would inform the race organisers about any changes. I would pay in full for the number. Many thanks Chris.
Hi oliver can you ring me up on 07799557629 Thanks Chris
running owl, an extra hill? HILL? There arent any hills around there!
lol OR - I live at the edge of the Snowdonia National park and the slight drag from Anchorsholme Park to Norbreck/Red Bank Road felt harder nearer the end than running up the Llanberis Pass in the Snowdonia marathon!!
Have to agree John it's not a hill as such but when your pushing for a time and it's the last few miles it feels like a mountain.
