This race looks very competitive - I ran the Nike 10k as a beginner with a friend, but felt I could have done it in about an hour.
I am keen to commit to this race but a bit reticent - any words from previous runners ??

Hi Denise,
there's already a Reebock 10k thread so if you look through the list it may help you there.
I've done this race twice its out and back very flat quite popular and if you did it in an hour you would not be last. Its as competative as you want to make it.
Looking at results from 1998 there were 758 finishers and the last placed person came in 1.29.26 .
So if i were you i'd go for it.

As Nike says, "Just do it!". I have been running for about a year and there is ALWAYS domeone slower and they don't mind. Runners are a little cooler than the rest anyway.

Can I ask you guy/girls to jump on the other Brighton thread and add your target time to it. We are compiling a web page for the race.
Many thanks

BK, no worries, I think it's NN that deserves the praise, especially after his computer crashing trying to get the page done!
Guy/girls I've added you to the list, but please see the list on the other thread, it's impressive!!

I too was wondering whether I would be too slow, now feel reassured. Ive only done 2 previous 10Ks both took about an hour. I (like most other casual runners) have a terrible fear of being the last one way behind the rest of the field. Will send off my entry today

Hi all,
considering doing it but the journey from London seems so long for a 10. Good luck to every 1 running.

Hey folks, just enjoy the run. I've only had two "races" in the last 12 months and after having a PB of 49:06 it felt quite a shock to take an hour at Maidstone but the folks at any given point in the race are fantastic so just enjoy it. I'm hoping to do this in 55. I entered last year and did 51 but whatever the time let's all have "fun in the run."

I'll give it a go, but does anyone know any good refreshments in the area afterwards?
