So who's signed/signing up to the Bungay Marathon or Half Marathon?  I'm running the Half Marathon and this will be my first, and the longest distance I have ever run! Best incorporate a few hill sessions!

I'm hoping to be fit to run the half. I ran the full in 2010 and the half this year....but have been suffering from knee problems since late April and currently not running at all....fingers crossed I can get it all sorted, as this would be my big stepping stone towards an autumn marathon in 2012.

Marcus - personally I don't think the hills are that bad, and the second half is flat, so once you have gone through the first 6 miles or so it is fine. Best of luck with it!

Thank you. I hope your injury improves soon Freemers.

I've had plantar fasciitis issues on and off since June, and struggle to get my runs over 7 miles before I start to feel discofort, so I've gone back to basics, and building up from 5k again.

And I agree the hills are not that bad (to look at, or whilst in the car), but better to be safe than sorry.

Yes, don't ignore hill training, but also don't worry if people describe the course as really hard - it isn't, so long as you are well prepared. Also, there are downs as well as ups!

It is a good race. I like the fact that the full sets off 2 hours before the half, so you get a chance to see the lead marathon runners come through - amazing how fast they run!

Good luck with getting rid of the PF...injury sucks!

Yes, having the Marathon runners hurtle past should help me along - it certainly helped during the recent 10k Adnams Great East Run when the 20k runners came past.

Ditto…hope you're back running soon.

Be my 3rd consecutive Bungay Marathon, looking forward to it immensely.  Great course.

Under three weeks and the course is looking glorious now that Spring has arrived! I ran the course a few weeks ago, just to see what the hills were really like, and I thought they were fine. The only one that gets you is the first one at about 1.8 miles.

The hills are fine on the 1st lap, its the 2nd lap where you need to dig deep!

Hope to be there for my 4th succesive Bungay.
