I was considering doing the Mile run on the Friday before the GNR, but have just found out that it costs £5 to enter, a fact that is not mentioned in the run magazine.
This seems like an extortionate amount of money for running 1 mile, especially as all you get to show for it is a certificate. I know they have to use chips to record the time, but they just get them back & reuse them.
If you transferred this price/mile to the main event, it would cost £65.
A few people at work were considering doing it as well, but the price has put them all off. Hardly a way to get non runners into actually doing some running.
