Eveyone please note the new start venue at the Shaws Arms not the Welcome Inn which was always used in the past..

It is not too far away and is even on the route used before in this race. It is next to the Ribble on the main road.

For anyone who has done this race before you will have passed the Shaws Arms crossing over the River Ribble at about 3 miles. NB it is on the other side of the bridge not the other pub you would have passed (Bridge Inn)

Looking forward to 2011 event - enjoyed last years. Is the route the same?Also, what will the parking arrangements be? I don't remember there being much at the Shawes Arms, and the main road is a complete no-no for parking.

The Shawes Arms is on the main A6 between Preston and Walton le Dale

The start is on The Boulevard.

The guys at Medicine Chernobyl are excellent so they'll have the parking all sorted.

The course is a new one. It looks a nice course too. I measured it on Jan 3rd and met a very "interesting" man with three dogs. He had this amazing ability to split words to get swear words in.

I'll post a link to the course map when i've had my tea. Coming Mrs P...............................

Looking forward to running this tomorrow. First race of the year for me. I missed it last year as I was in Dubai running the Marathon.I think it is going to be a lot colder tomorrow than in Dubai? Good luck to all competing!

Anyone know where's there's a link to the route for tomorrow? Just interested in the course/profile before I get there.

Maybe someone could mapmyrun if they know the route and have a spare 5 minutes? (from what I understand you can't store/provide links to things you plot on google maps - not sure why, but I've never been able to do it!)

Good luck to all racing tomorrow. Looks like a coolish day, but no wind, and it's not too icy out and about at the minute, and shouldn't get much colder, so by 11am should be pretty good conditions. Hopefully if the route is flat-ish, shoud be a quick one.

Nice little run this. I followed on Ron Hill's tail for 3 miles, then the bugger just went off like a whippet.....

Found a dead mole during prize giving. Had a funeral. It was very sad.....
