Anyone signed up fro the chesterfield marathon.  I cannot decide between this one or Nottingham, have done Notts before.  Both are local.

Not yet but intending to. Done Nottm twice and it`s not the best imo so fancy a new local one.

Giving Chesterfield a go its local so wanted to support it

I'm thinking about doing it as a training run for the Yorkshire marathon - I hear that the first half is flat and fast, but the second half is more challenging. Does anyone know just how undulating or hilly the second half will be?

They have yet to 100% confirm the route, Chesterield is fairly hilly so I am expecting the 2nd half to be undulating at least!

I did Yorkshire Marathon last year it was amazing!

Cheers Baz and Cake

Newark rather than Norfolk - but it's quite flat round here, so I'm a bit unsure as I don't want it to be too tough for a training run!

Rather annoying the half marathon finishes out of town at some crap hotel car park... a real shame and in my opinion a bit of a fail by the organisers.

Fortunately I'm running the marathon, but had signed my mother and step-father up for the half as a rather unwanted birthday present for them both in an attempt to help them get off the couch and become active! Was hoping to either see them finish or at least see them when I finish the full

Which hotel is it Boots? If it's not to much out of the way think sarah might be interested. Didn't even realise there was a half option.

Next up for me is Buxton HM and, so long as I get that done in one piece, I`ll sign up for Chesterfield full just before the price goes up!

Any sign of a course profile. Although I work very near to Chez, I don`t really know the area!

ET I think the course is still under negosiation from what I've heard from the local's. I'm trying to work it out myself and failing to an extent.

Enjoy Buxton doing Eyam sunday if your about and fancy taking in anouther hilly one.

Not doing Eyam but mate carter is; he wants that t-shirt!

There`s a map out now! Doesn`t mean a lot to me but will be looking into it.

Don't know the area. Is the route flat, undulating, hilly?  Will probably do it but would like to know.

Undulating. I work in the area but don`t know it well enough to spot where the climbs are.

Hmm, thanks, which marathons would you say it's like? at a guess.

Terry if it all goes where I think it's going to go I'd put it similar to Leicester or the old Nottingham marathon in term's of hilliness. It's a bit of guesswork at the moment through. It won't be flat but not going to be mega hard.
