Children's Race - Events - Runner's World

My 9 year old son enjoyed this race. Although advertised as just one 1 mile race for children they did sort the children into 3 age categories which made it more fair. Older children did 2 laps of field, not sure what the distance was though in the end, not sure it had been measured. My son would do this race again and it's a good one for any children wanting to have a go at a race as it is low key.

Thanks for the feedback Caroline. I am really glad your son enjoyed the race. This was our first race in Grayshott and I think next year we will look at making the children's race a bit more interesting, perhaps on the common. The distance was supposed to be 1km but actually there was a slight diversion so in the end I think they did just over a km.

My 7 year old loved his race. he didn't feel under pressure at all as it was very relaxed. He really enjoyed himself. We will be back next year.
