I can across this marathon, it does say that its not been held for a few years but does anyone have any info on this?

Hmmm, cheap as chips. £12 and £14!! (Edinburgh marathon organisers take note - yes I know you have more expenses but....)

Not sure what the course is like. But I hope this does become a regular thing. Good luck to dumfries running club for organising this one.

I won't be running it, haven't plucked up the courage to run the big one yet.

For a moment, I thought it was the same day as the Inverness half, but it's the week after.

Well spotted Jane! :o)

Anyone thinking of giving this one a go?

Looks interesting, pity there's no info on the course. Could be a nice warm-up for Lochaber!

May go for this if I don't get into London through ballot or club place. The Dumfries half is reasonably hilly in places so if using part of that route this may be tough.

Is there a cutoff
22/10/2005 at 10:27
where is dumfries
22/10/2005 at 10:28
Borders, I think Hippo.

Hippo I looked at the Dumfries half results and folks finishing up to 3 hours, so I doubt there would be a cut-off for this marathon, not much info on the Running Club website yet.

Dumfries is about 1.5 hrs drive down from Glasgow and at a guess i would say about 1hourish north of Carlisle. Its in the boder area not far from Gretna / Lockerbie etc

23/10/2005 at 22:36
5 hour cut-off, not sure myself about that, do they let you finish the race if you are just outside it.
23/10/2005 at 22:43
ca one get lost

fellrunner I will email them once I have decided to enter, which I probably will as even if I get into FLM there is a few weeks between them. Although I have ran a sub 5 hours it could all fall apart on the day and I would end up over 5 hours.

Just planning on entering this marathon if I survive Snowdon one.

fellrunner I hope all my marathons are sub 5 from now on, just need to get the training done.

sir sqrl, good luck at Snowdon what time are you hoping to achieve?
