Edinburgh Marathon

Can anyone recommend a hotel for the marathon?  Have got the flights booked but are looking at accommodation and transfers to the start.

 This is a first timer for me in Edinburgh.

 Any guidance will be greatly appreciated!

I can recommend a great little B&B that is a 20 minute brisk walk to the start.  Kew House (www.kewhouse.com) is where my husband and I stayed when he ran Edinburgh in 2009.  You don't need to rely on transport (which is netoriously bad on marathon day in Edinburgh - be warned!) and the walk is a nice warm-up.  It's very reasonable rates and the owners are lovely people who will also drop a cold breakfast by your room for the early start.  If you want closer you will have to pay more, but I recommend the Hilton Caledonian.  Is expensive though and I still preferred Kew House.  Good luck and enjoy running in a lovely city!
