Hey. I've just joined the site and this, my first post, is to express my excitement at having signed up for my first event of 2013 and my first since the birth of my fourth son.

Paignton 10k for South Devon College it'll be my first on a part trail  course as well which should be interesting as I'd like to get involved in some cross country in future.

I guess we'll see how it goes. X

Welcome to the forum RunniHunni  That sounds like a great 10k to get the year started!

Hi - welcome back to running!  How you ever get out to train with four children - must be a feat in itself!  I was looking at that 10K too - but didnt realise it was part x country-sounds interesting.  It doesnt quite fit in with my VLM training as I should be doing a long run that day but do like to go to local races.  I quite fancy x-country too - have only been running a few years but do like to run around Cockington and the woods - not at the moment mind you! Hope you enjoy the training.  I might see you along the seafront sometime!  Just did a wet and windy 6 miles tonight!

Thanks jenf.

Torquayrunner: Hard core huh?! I chose not to run last night in the end and probly a good thing too as I've woken up with the kids' cold. My oldest is at Uni now so I only have three little ones at home. They're all under 7 so I can get them into bed and hit the gym or the tarmac accordingly...often with my face as I fall asleep where I'm standing but who's counting??

I've been thinking about going over to The Decoy for some trail running when the weather starts behaving. I love running by the seafront and I get down there most weekends so it's entirely possible that we've already done 'the nod'.

Should hopefully get to the gym tonight, I much prefer outdoor running but I don't do cold and wet one or the other I can handle but not both together.
