Anyone doing this?

I feel obliged to do it since the start is so close to my house.

Unusually for me, I have my number already.

Wonder if the course includes Portland Hill? (hope so!)

I'd send off an entry ASAP if I was you, it's filling up quickly and there might not be any entries on the night. You go down Beeston lane past Nat West, through the Trent Building to the lake annd round if that helps!

Did this last year, good race. Lizzy I know for a 10k it's reasonably hilly/undulating (you run the same hills 3 times I think!), but it's not a killer, in fact for me last year I managed a reasonably quick time. Don't know the names of the hills though.

I found the downhills more than made up for the up hills.

Got my entry in and awaiting my number. EOD'd last year and had to wait for my t-shirt to be sent through as Nutty said it fills up fast!!

Right, I'm number 68.

Anyone else?

Not had my number yet but from checking the Formula One CC website I think I'm going to be number 255.

Did you do Notts 5 or Heanor (or nothing) on Friday night Lizzy?
04/08/2005 at 10:54
Neither - still recovering from injury (really wanted to do Heanor though!) But I'm running again, so all should be well for Jagermeister

Did you do either of them?
04/08/2005 at 11:09
Yep, Notts 5. PB for me by a minute and a half (although I'd never run a 5 mile race until a month ago!)
04/08/2005 at 12:36
I did Heanor as I don't like the Notts 5 course, Heanor also had a bar & BBQ - definately prefer it to Notts 5 but it's not a PB course.
I pushed my little girl round for the first time in a race in a baby jogger which was different and I got a few funny looks!

Well Done on your PB though Hammerite.

Thanks Nutty, I didn't mind the Notts course, bit boring but with 3 laps plenty of support. I just wanted a fast flat one really, the other 2 5 milers are done were both when it was boiling hot, so didn't get good times for either.

Bar & BBQ definitely sounds good though (the pub we went to after was a bit rough to say the least!)

Ey up nutty i gave you a shout as you came in with the pushchair, well done good effort.

I'm running it with my son(makes me sound so old) whose having a break from track sprinting. Got our numbers back 365 & 366.

Quick question : we're coming in on the train, are we best getting the tram or bus to the campus ?
07/08/2005 at 07:10
I feel a list coming on

Hammerite #255
LizzyB - Erewash kit (yellow with red band) #68
Mango 365
Mango jnr. 366
Hammerite

Mango - trams don't go to the campus, best to get a bus. Plenty go past the campus, but I think only the 11(?) goes through the middle of it. Check with Nottingham City Transport - 0115 950 60 70. Oh, and our busses don't give change (it'll be about £1.20 each way)
07/08/2005 at 10:01
Actually, thinking about it, if there's two of you, a taxi will be about £5-£7 and no waiting or walking. There are always loads outside the station. Depends on your budget, I guess
07/08/2005 at 13:14
Yeah reckon we'll get a taxi as there could be another guy coming with us if he's got in.
BTW -i'll be in my red Hatton Darts vest and junior will be in his black Burton A/C
vest.
I'm racing at Derby Moorways at a vets relay on Wednesday though its only 2.5k legs so shouldn't take too much out of me.

Looking forward to Friday !

08/08/2005 at 12:09

08/08/2005 at 12:19

I'll be standing around pointing or doing some other such duty as it's my clubs race!

We've sold all 400 places now so please tell anyone thinking of entering on the night, "sorry we're full" and will not be taking entries on the night.

Cheers to Darren, all shouts at Heanor were gratefully received.
