The route is lovely after the first mile. Once off the main roads it's all country lanes, gradually climbing up to 11 miles (fantastic view). The only real noticeable climb for me was just after the water station at around 9-10 miles. It's a fast last 2 miles, all being downhill. The only downside is weather permitting. If it's bad you may not get all your training in, and the route can be icy in places - same as all winter training though!
