Manchester Marathon was wet, cold and very windy. Runners were suffering with hypothermia.

My legs are really sore today. Having a recovery week or two then start training for this one.

Well done just for doing it

Same as you LadyLouLou. Just done Manchester and will do a couple of slow short runs later this week before starting training for Freckleton at the end of next week.

GazOC least you finished it I bailed out at 23miles cramped up and very very cold. The temptation of only living down the road from where the marathon past was too much.

Feel like a complete loser now. Should have gone on. Done 100 mile bike rides, half marathons, 23 mile training runs and never failed to finish.

Anyway looking forward to this.

Don't be hard on yourself, those conditions were awful. Its one thing being tired and in pain but when you add freezing cold as well then getting to 23 miles is a good show!

Cheers GazOC.

Don't beat yourself up. You did 23 miles in that weather. 23 more than I would have done.

I recently started the Blackpool Marathon. Got to 20 miles and I'd had enough. Better to stop and recover than to push on when you're not right for it.

There will be other marathons but we only get 1 body so we must look after it.

You are not a loser. You are sensible, and therefore a winner.

So, WELL DONE for stopping. It was the right thing

Just joined this race after finishing the Manchester Marathon and starting to miss having a target.  I can't wait...  I suppose I should start to train again..  Two weeks off after the worst DOMS I've ever experienced...  Agony!!

Congrats on the Manchester marathon BigChief, hope injury has cleared up soon!

Really looking forward to this race again.... need to get back into training though, seemed to have lost my training mojo a bit since the high of completing my first mara at Brighton.

Note on the race web site and Facebook says this race is full.

Not sure about teansfers this time. I don't think they're allowing transfers because the entry limit was raised this year to accommodate more demand for places

Does anyone know any good trail routes or just some wooded paths etc not to far from the Freckleton/Kirkham area?

Dave123, message me. If you're local i can take you round some trail routes in the area
