Oldest half in the UK
Thanks Cougie, yes collect on the day. But they said they'd advise the numbers on an email in mid-May and I haven't had anything apart from confirmation of payment from UK Forms. I've sent emails to the address on the website (firstname.lastname@example.org) but with no reply.
I've looked there once but I'll have another look later. Thanks muchly.
My place is up for grabs if anyone wants it (still injured ), will take a tenner via paypal.
Should be there tomorrow - our 236 HM
Good morning athletes,
A fine day for running here on the beautiful Fylde Coast.
It's going to be a briliant atmosphere with a record 850 entries. Get here early to get a good parking place
Collect your number before 1.15. Don't forget your email confirmation, that will mean we can find you on the list quickly.
If you have lost/deleted/irnored your email then you will have to bring prof of payment, eg bank or credit card statement please.
If off to Southport to commentate on a triathlon then I'm going to cycle round the course with the first lady so she gets the same recognition aas the leading man (or vice versa if the race leader is a lady)
See you later. Come and say Hello.
great event bit warm for me but got round best wishes to the the few i saw fallen along the course
I heard 5 taken to hospital. Hope they are OK now.
i saw casualties yesterday - lets just hope their all ok
good run for us - just slow thats all, but i am recovering from an op - though we did run 5 mile races last Tuesday and Wednesday evenings - so, i'm sure that was in my legs
The afternoon start is the big drawback of this race.
That said, I shall be there next year for the big one!
Anyone know if there are any race photo's ??
Here you go folks
A fine collection of photos from Lynne Brown. 1173 of them altogether.
Many thanks to Lynne for taking the photos.
Please note: they are copyright protected to Lynne so if you want any of them you MUST ask Lynne for permission please.
Freckleton was my first half marathon and I must say that it was a fantastic day. I took my wife, kids and mother and they enjoyed the hospitality whilst we were suffering around the course. Yes, it was hot on the day and I noticed a few being treated on the roadside (hope everyone is fine). I enjoyed being part of the crowd and the local support was fantastic. A big thankyou to the team on the day. I thing I'll give it a bash next year too!
Had a great time, as always at this one. Its my favourite local race.
Does anyone know what happened to the guy who got taken away in an ambulance. I heard a rumour he was hit by a car ?
Ah i thought the , car rumour was a bit odd! As i saw him being treated on pavement on my way home.
It was a very warm day, so thank you to all the folks who got there with water and sponges, i even heard extra ones had been set up. I passed 4 and my friend who finished half an hour after me, said he passed 6. I guess thats one of the thngs that make freckleton special.
Hope he is ok, was it you Alan or someone you know ?
