No sign of the results yet either - have found an interesting article posted by one runner:

<a href="http://www.hemelcycling.org.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=1071" title="http://www.hemelcycling.org.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=1071">http://www.hemelcycling.org.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=1071</a>and I don't know what I was doing, but I didn't see a single mile marker - how rubbish am I !Was it the grit or saltiness that put you off the sponges? I kept mine and showered with it later.

That was an interesting read. Didn't experience any marshalling issues myself, but then I was about 3/4's of the way down the field, so any slip ups would have been corrected by the time I came past (you hope).

Looking to do the Southend Half next.

Good luck with that - have you checked the Mersea Island races? The 10-mile is a nice event, and I'm doing the 'Round the Island' for the first  time this year - about 13-miles they say.

This sounds interesting. Its just up the road from me and I've never run this before. Late August I believe. I'll keep it on my radar TF, as I'm training and building my legs up for doing my 1st ever marathon in the 1st half of next year.

Has anyone seen results for this yet?

There are two Mersea race dates, the round the island is 26th June about 13-14 miles multi terrain and the 28th August for either a 5mile or 10 mile (2 laps) road course.

Details are here http://www.merseaislandraces.co.uk/index.htm

Only just down the road from me as well but I'm away for the round the island one

No results seen yet.
I'm also away for the round island race, but the August 10 maybe a good one for me.

Stil no results ....

Good news you're looking at the Mersea 10 - if I run Round the Island i shall keep you posted. Liz, were you talking to my other half, Laura, at the end of Frinton?

GoldenHeart, what is your chosen Marathon? I'm looking at Nottingham this September, my 5th! You'e right to keep the legs trained; they have a very good memory and know what to expect!

Finally found results

Foon - may have been talking to your other half, I tend to chat a lot

Towards the end I was talking to a lady in orange (I think) wearing a baseball cap who I had chatted with towards the start and then after the race I had a chat with a lady who had also done the Colchester half, unfortunately I didn't get a name but I was wearing a blue Colchester Bootcamps vest.

I'm doing my first marathon in October so building up the mileage for that!

Nice one - the results are out !!

Well done on finding them, and good luck with the October marathon - have you chosen one yet?

and we both did the Colchester half, so it must have been her; such a contrast between the races!

19/05/2011 at 17:52

Yep, very different races both had their pluses and minuses, I think I enjoyed Colchester more because I had people there supporting me and although I didn't like the two lap format I have to say that the seafront at Frinton seemed to go on forever.

I think the last little loop at Frinton, before you got back to the finish nearly destroyed one chap who thought we were nearly finished and asked me if I knew how much further it was, when I said it was another 2.5 miles he just visibly crumpled!

I am doing the Istanbul marathon on the 16th October - my first so I am nervously looking forward to it.

13/05/2012 at 14:22

Nope - it was the turn of the Colchester 19k this year; very pleasant it was too!

06/04/2013 at 21:25

So yet again i'm trying to find if this race is on for 2013 anyone have any ideas where to find the entry page this year????
