i am unsure what to do about great north run ,  my physio has told me i probs shouldnt run as i have a knee injury but it is not the knee joint , which is good . i have not done distance training this summer because of this   . should i just go for it ? has anyone else run with a knee injury ?

Injured, no training, advised not to run, and you're asking a bunch of randoms who know nothing about you whether you should just go for it. Hmm.

I think you can defer your GNR entry until next year if you got it through the ballot. Log in to Great Run and have a look. It's not worth risking your long term health to be able to run it this year.
