Shielsy - it's probably a good thing that you didn't notice ur feet, they must have been fairly comfy then.

Cc2 - sounds like the snow must be pretty bad with you and as you just said probably just as we'll the race was cancelled if you've a nasty cough.

Graham - sounds absolutely hideous to me.

20 miler tomorrow morning apparently -1 till lunchtime so that should be fun

Enjoy your wine CC2, and get well soon.  I'm having some cheese, french bread and red wine for dinner soon (maybe with a side serving of scrambled egg for some protein)

BP - good luck!

Me being boring and laying off alcohol tonight with run tomorrow at 8.30
23/03/2013 at 19:26

Get well soon CC2- missing that 1/2mara is probably a very good idea.

Our race is on tomorrow. Wind chill of -7C promised so its very difficult to know what to wear, especially as I hate getting too warm.  But usable hands at the end of the race would be nice too...

BP-"enjoy" the 20 miler!

Gaham - xc sounds horrendous !

Cc2 - not sure what time im going to be aiming forat NT10k, im hoping for a pb (42:44), so if i stay ahead of you im running a blinder and if im behind you it will be an incentive to go eyeballs out and catch you !

Im off out early for a ten miler, weather forecastlooks pretty dire as usual !

mr sj, I enjoy XC but I'm not really built for it. A 10K is more my cup of tea. I'll be hoping for sub-43 in the NT race on Sunday but haven't done one since May so not sure of form. Conditions might be quite good if there's a SE wind blowing.

Morning - been lurking (again) for a bit. Hope everyone is doing ok in this weather and aren't too cold/snowed in.

Hope the lurgy passes soon for you CC2 and the hamstring niggle doesn't get any worse, Shielsy.

I too have my NT10k number (1193). I shall be steady 10 min mile as usual, although if I can do sub 60 mins I would be thrilled! Given that you racing snakes will be finished well before me, if you do see me coming as you clear the finish area, do give me a shout!

Good running to any who make it out today, wind/snow/illness dependent

20 miler done - not as cold as they suggested and no rain. Just on 9 min/mile so again really happy. Last 2 miles at 8:35 pace and that felt good.

Well done Bearsted! What are you doing for the rest of the day then?

Afternoon all

24/03/2013 at 13:31

Well done BP - I'm jealous you managed the full 20.

It's still as cold and windy here today as it was yesterday.

Afternoon Vixx.

Fuzzy - not a lot as my wife is in London meeting my daughter and apparently in Harrods at moment. I'm sat watching world XC on TV and after that who knows.

Shielsy the weather has to get better soon doesn't it. All that tough XC faces you did will mean that when you can get back to 20+ you will have the strength to do it.
24/03/2013 at 13:59

Bearsted - what's she buying you nice from Harrods then?

Hi Shielsy! How are you? I think you were wise to stop when you did. How is the hamstring today?

I did 10 in snow yesterday (some of it up to my knees) and it feels today like I did a lot more!

24/03/2013 at 14:05
Afternoon vixx, shielsy and bear. I've also just completed 20 miles in that weather. Have to say it wasn't quite as bad as I expected.

Bear - hope you wife isn't spending too much. That would be easy in Harrodsburg!
24/03/2013 at 14:05
Where did that burg come from?
24/03/2013 at 14:09

Hi Fiona - how was your 20?

24/03/2013 at 14:41

I want to go to Harrodsburg - sounds lovely!

Hamstring is a bit niggly today, but not as painful as it was last week.  I'm keeping everything crossed it'll sort itself out if I don't go daft.

I have now invested in a buff, since I'm not convinced it's going to warm up anytime soon - running with a bare neck yesterday (the only part of me not covered) was horrible.

24/03/2013 at 14:44

I should have been doing the Lightning Run today

24/03/2013 at 16:49
Vixx was it cancelled?

My 20 actually felt quite good. The weather was grim but the run was better than anticipated. I've been using HR to run so had no idea about the pace till I got home. I did the whole thing at marathon pace but HR was at the low end of LSR range so really pleased. I could definitely gone further at that pace so it bodes well for a sub 4

Fiona sounds brilliant keep the hard work - me too I felt good at end today. Hopefully my aim of sub 3:50 is looking better now. Did you say you were doing Manchester?
