This Looks good
Hi all.
I running on sunday and looking to get between 3:16 and 3:30. only planning on using 3 Gels (one every 6 miles) adn taking on either lucazade or powerade?
Is anyone else running at 7:30 min/mile pace and what are their gels/drink plan?
Weather is totally unpredictable at the minute 2 websites are saying different things? Looking forward to it still though. Hope all goes well for everyone.
Can't help, I'm afraid. I'm doing HR training at the moment, so will be pootling along waaaayyyyy behind you.
On the gels, I do 1 every 45 mins, mixture of Torq and Gu. I don't really like powerade or lucozade, so I tend not to bother with them.
Well, despite the awful weather, what an enjoyable event that was! Pootled around in a moderate pace, Achilles held up well and I feel fine today. The course was a lot more enhjoyable than I expected it to be, although I found the surface through the industrial estate tiring, not sure why. Hope they do it again.
Hi Rosemary - how did you get on? That loop up through the industrial estate seemed to go on forever!
I was glad I only did the 10km.
Hi Ian, a nicely-paced 4.28, which given my recent form I am pleased with. How did you get on?
Hi Rosemary - a cautious, first run-all-the-way for me - just over 4.50 - so dead chuffed! Really nice event, even with the rain! When's your next run out?
Beachy Head on Saturday - you?
Fenland 10 on sunday then Rutland Water Marathon the following weekend! Is beachy head sold out yet?
Yes, it sells out pretty quick. I'm also doing Rutland Water - here's hoping the weather is better!
I did Rutland last year - and it was freezing! But very scenic - see you there - I'm aiming for 4.30ish!
Agree it was enjoyable, shame about the weather (particularly for spectators), not too bad for running apart from the headwind and drizzle in the dreary industrial end. Fantastic support from just about everyone that turned up. Thanks, Great Yarmouth.
Really enjoyed the day. Weren't all the marshalls fantastic!! Despite the weather they were there for all the runners, both 10K and Marathoners.
Would definitely do it again!
