Fantastic! Like the new date, nearly caught me out though. Missed the lake at the end of the race last year, far too civilised for my liking. Come on you organisers, make us suffer for our sport, you know we love it!!

we haven't done in the past few years - Aldershot is a bit too packed with squaddies for most peoples liking.

(you probably won't break any nails, but you may not be able to feel your feet for a while afterwards!)

If you can keep the things on your feet, then wear them !!

Personally, I don't think they'll make a lot of difference, but I can't say I have ever tried it.

spikes no, studs could be useful. a pair of caterpillar tracks off a tank would be even better !! Hope december isn't too clement for this run, I rather enjoyed breaking the ice before I plunged knee, hip, waist deep last time.

JFB, this year spikes certainly wouldn't have been needed. Apart from the puddles, which are far too deep to need spikes, the rest was fairly hard dirt. Off-road trainers were perfect.

I was told by the salesman in Runner's Need that spikes weren't allowed in Grim, but I don't know where he got that from.
