Shortly before being pulled out of a puddle by Angelis because I was in over my waist and sinking fast...

Did you say 'puddle'? Some puddle!
It does sound like it's going to be fun.

So - do I use this an excuse go and buy a new pair of off-road shoes for this event or do I wear the tattiest pair that I own and am likley to throw away anyway?

I'd go for off roaders - I use this race to give mine their annual wash!

Tattiest ones I would say, much easier than cleaning em after.

If you can get hold of a pair of fell shoes, I tend to think the grip is better than a normal off roader.

Definitely in my plans, as well as the knacker cracker. Shall we see if we can do a clean sweep of the prizes?

Not sure I'll be able to defend my KC title without the benefit of a weeks solid training in the sunshine but will make sure I've got my lucky socks on :-)
I've just passed my 25m swimming badge - should be useful for the GRIM!

Dangerous things lists- you never know what you are getting yourself in for.
I usually try to stay away, but the thought of getting all wet and muddy gets me all tingly!
In a running sense obviously! <ahem>
