What a day

Anyone else do this race today, what a laugh. I was soaked through before the race even started! It was great fun though running through all the floods and mud etc. without worrying about it. And the goody bag was top, about 20 chocolate bars, a t-shirt, and a massive jar of coffee. Random but good.

I'll definitely do this one again next year, the hill at Birstwith is a killer though...

I was down to do it. Had an attack of "lurgy" a day or so before, turned up anyway. jogged for a minute to warm up, hacked up half a lung and decided discretion was the better part of valour.

And i'm still gutted i didn't do it, despite my chesty cough being worse than it was before.

Mrs D. nearly divorced me when she found out that she'd missed out on 20 choccie bars. Next time Fawkes, next time!

I braved it too!  And likewise was absolutely soaked by the time it started.  Had to wring out the sleeves on my top several times on the way round.  Birstwith Brute is a killer, but I managed to run up it this year (probably slowed than I walked it last year but even so...).  Have you warmed up yet?  I think I have... just...

Bad luck Mr Darcy.  I hope your lurgy gets better soon.  Sensible decision especially in this weather.

I didn't manage to run all the way up it, I probably could've managed it if I pushed but I would've struggled on the rest of the run. I decided there was no shame in walking a little. I did it in 1hr 26 which I was pretty happy with, my original goal was under 1hr 25 (which I revised to between 1hr 30 and 1hr 40 after struggling along with a knee injury).

Had a great day though and I'm going to spend my night eating the chocolate from the goody bag

What a fantastic race. Part of me was hoping it would be cancelled but i am now glad it went ahead. Wind, rain, hills and a goody bag - all part of the fun!

Got drenched before we even started, ran through floods and mud puddles - and thoroughly enjoyed every minute!  Ran most of the way up the Birstwith Brute and ran all the other hills, very pleased with my efforts and my time! Fantastic organisation, great marshalls and fabulous goody bag and t-shirt at the finish! This was my first GF10 and I'll definately be doing it next year.

There's quite a pictures and you can't search for your number, but you should be able to find yourself. Sadly (as usual) I'm right on the edge of every picture I'm in
